I have an idea for some social friction added to the game. I'm not a huge fan of the Mayor of my node, he seems to have a huge ego. I think it'd be hilarious if he could use node progress towards building a statue of his character on his flying mount. Nothing would have me wanting to switch nodes to participate in a siege more than missuse of resources on a vanity project. I also imagine for younger players, seeing a statue of an actual player would be incredibly cool.

The placement of the giants need to tell to tell a story. As shown they are just scatted all over. They should have an assigned purpose.

That's how I feel about almost every mob in A2 at the moment. I'd love some little alcoves and caves where goblins reside, instead of just on a field of grass. Give me bears, just laying around, scratching their backs on trees, that kind of stuff. Maybe smaller versions of mobs, named "Junior _mobname_", dealing less damage and giving less xp. Something to spice up the world of NPC's ^^

I loath it a lot by now when mobs just stand around scattered like obvious *_"mmo mobs"_* in a way that you can easily pull them one by one. Would be much better if they hang around in small crowds and if that makes some mobs who are naturally superior to others, very hard to deal with, then so be it. This is what mmo's and forming big partys is for.

What you guys are doing is just bonkers. I think we were all very skeptical at the beginning, and to some extent a lot of folks probably still are, myself included. It's a lot of features after all. But I've been watching this develop for years and I can wholeheartedly say that it's impressive what you guys have done so far! You've proven to be trustworthy, dedicated, reasonable and even humble people who have earned my respect for what you've accomplished. Really looking forward to seeing the world develop into something with a lot of life and character. Detailed zones that tell a visual story no matter where you look. A good solid narrative, that gets me excited and immersed into the world. Good music and ambience that I can just sit down and fish to all day. One of my favorite relaxing things to do in WoW is fish in the zones with some of the best music , like Bastion for example. I wish you all the best and keep going strong!

I also think large mobs need at least a small amount of knockback, it's immersion breaking when a giant or dragon winds up a big attack, hits the player square on and... their model doesn't even flinch. Would be cool if they were thrown 30 feet, and tanks could have a "Grounded" skill that reduces the knockback to 3 feet instead. Having your tanks displaced would be another layer of danger you have to play around that's not just big dmg number

What could be cooler then seeing the enemy 400 players charging towards your node and then realizing they have giant spiders crawling up your walls from behind? That "oh shit they brought a cave troll" moment from the Durins Tome scene from LOTR

If nothing else, on tanks it should definitely cause a stumble/stagger. Would make something else for tanks to watch out for.

@@logirex It's almost like they are a fan and self funded company, you do realize it costs money to host players on servers right? The 100-150 cost is for almost 1-2 years of server time. You are also seeing a true alpha, most gaming companies IF they drop an alpha they do it a few weeks before they go live and that's when they usually allow random people or people who atleast buy the game to try it out.

What an amazing dev update. Probably in my top 3. It's so amazing to see how the devs are interacting with the community within their game. I loooove these fun events. Remind me of old Neverwinter night 1 times with my brothers where we would turn ourselfs into Balrogs. For someone playing in the Alpha 2 from Japan, it is nice to see how the game looks like with a ping below 300ms and with no rubberbanding... How does GW2 do that? They dont have a server in asia either but their game is playable.

Oh, hi! Are they throwing ideas here? It's cool when each creature in the game has some kind of justified existence, why it exists and how it harmonizes with the whole world, what it does, like a logical scenario. Maybe giants catch bears, and then eat them and make clothes?)) That is, everything interacts not only with the player, but also with the world, be it other monsters or NPCs. Well, or giants were hunted a lot, they themselves showed up at night in the node). Well, that is, adding some cause-and-effect relationships would also be cool. Or for some reason you can give the player the opportunity to be a monster or a boss, complete chaos, no prediction of what RB will do))

i'm sure you noticed at 46:50, when the chain pull was used. it didn't work. it unfortunately doesn't pull mobs off of ledges currently :( hopefully that gets fixed soon.

The base Archetypes include Cleric and Tank as healer and tank archetype, respectively. The augment system might muddy the water between all the roles, but in the end nothing should heal more than a Cleric + Cleric (High Priest) or tank more than a Tank + Tank (Guardian).

Would be interesting to see the various sub classes be a more specialized version. Maybe high priest is the ultimate single tar/raid healer but a bard cleric sings hymns of healing that buffs and gives great AOE heals etc. maybe a sub class of tank is higher damage but will take more, where another sub class is fantastic at AOE tanking.

According to what Steven said here, it must be that other players are stealing them all. Their numbers show tons of it being harvested. Once there is more than one zone and players spread out, then hopefully everyone won't be fighting over the same spots.

Feature(scope) creep would imply that the mechanic(s) in question is/are a brand new iteration in gameplay design. They are not. The monster coin system was a stated feature since the Kickstarter campaign.

I hope raid bosses will have real mechanics and tactics at least as good as WoW by launch. I still think it was not the best approach to have this limited classes, one healer, one ress, one tank one mess. The only way out of it that I see is either augmentations(which atm don't seem promising) or allow classes to actually spec in other classes as well (for ex A fighter could spec in Fighter and Tank or a Cleric can spec into Cleric and Bard and so on).

I love the idea of having GMs controlling some world/event bosses instead of AI (this way no one can complain about AI being to stupid etc... XD) and i hope we ll see it in the game lauch cause it would make the incounter waaay more interesting for having a real human behind it and not an AI, i think it would be a first in the gaming universe, to have GMs controling the bosses etc... (not all bosses obviously but some of them), keep this in mind intrepid please and maybe ask for feed pack about it too, i am curious to see if i am the only one to think that. edit: let me also add an idea too, by doing it like that you can make it so players after defeating the boss can loot a skill book that will allow them to use one of the bosses attacks (usable once or more depending on the strength of the skill) it would be easy to do since these bosses are playable characters by the GMs.

Freeholds at not designed to be used by one person, they will take multiple people to organize manage and maintain, like imagine a bar in the countryside with an owner yes but also staff and customers. That's how I always thought they intended them anyway. You can't have 15k freeholds where would you put them all, and if you did what would be the point in nodes, everyone would just be hanging out at their own freehold and the mmo would basically become another single player online experience

The most important part of any mmorg is " COMBAT " & the Second is server stability, memory leeks ...etc Ashes can tick off the Combat box. The combat is solid, it's responsive, sounds & looks great. Remember gamer's are impatient, there's only so many times you can use the excuse " It's an Alpha " Archeage 2 is set for release in 2025 & many gamers have only heard of it for a couple of years.
