When I tried to add GridView to my project I got bare HTML table without ANY style, Edit functionality, or anything for that matter... Just a plain old HTML table with no style. Any idea why?

I think its because you didn't use the wizard to update your project, instead, you tried to import the devexpress elements immediately. Which I may be wrong, and you did updated the wizard, In that case, try to create the MVC project using DevExpress, instead of using plain MVC, try creating the MVC project from the Dev Express tool bar instead. The issue is that in the devexpress html, it needs to import scripts, dev express javascript and CSS, and update the Web.Config, therefore, I create a new MVC project using DevExpress, then I update the dependencies in the recently created project instead. It saves you a lot more hassle compared to configuring it manually.

@@justinandrew8400 Thanks for the reply. In the meantime I created a new MVC project and repeated the steps again, and then it worked. I must've missed the order, or, as you said...
