Struggling with the game mechanics is not the same as struggling with execution. Tekken 8 is a mess, even if your execution is on point. It’s especially a mess if you’re playing kaz or DJ.

Long time DVJ here. I agree pretty useless move. The wall and sometimes picking up a combo with it are my only uses. My sparring group gives me shit for playing a "busted" character 😂😂 they have no clue how hard his neutral is plus the execution. Not to mention his game plan. Sure his heat is pretty great! And some of our members play Jun and Oscar's lmao. One other Mishima besides myself. But we have been playing together for 5 years I'm used to it, even in 7 where dvj got nerfed into the ground I was being "carried" sorry for the rant 😂😂

he has bad mids which equated to bad pokes compared to tekken 7 dvj. he's also a gimmick character but also an all-around mishima. when i say gimmicks it is his mourning crow stance. shackle (hit on block) into mourning crow+1, is plus frames for him so be careful pressing (usually they're going to sneak a steel pedal counterhit after this which combos) To deal with mourning crow, you can jab him out (confirm the range of your jab before doing this ofc) so you can interrupt and punish him. but if your dvj player doesnt spam his new moves abd gimmicks then goodluck that's a mishima player like mainman here 😂

I'm struggling as well. For some reasons you can practice and do a combo 1 thousands time and for some reason it's drop even tho you see a punch or kick touch the opponent but nothing happens

Big/real combos are very character specific in this game. Pay attention to scaling because you might be better off going for optimal or wall carry or less hits in general. T7 combo trials showed you some of the best the character has to offer but with health regen, even losing 60% at round start in T8 is not scary

His high excecution is part of it but the biggest issue is his gameplan. Very steppable neutral for a t8 character, mediocre poking, 50/50 doesn't lead to explosive dmg outside of heat unless you're willing to commit to risky mids.

@@JinKazoomeryeah this is true. Ws2 into 5 electrics is 68 and way too difficult. Even 4 is hard and you get 62. you can do a much easier combo, ws2, u1+2, 3,1, bf212 for 1 more damage than 4 electrics. You can do iws3 into mc4,2,1+2 after the 3,1 for 73 damage, and while it is technical doing an iws3, its much easier than doing 5 electrics and that gives 5 less damage
