Dante with depression after "killing" his brother in the first game
@theunknownvoidz14092 жыл бұрын
And realizing that even after Dante managed to kick Mundus’ ass it won’t bring his mother or brother back from the dead. No matter what his friends tried to do to help him move on, Dante couldn’t because, at the time, he believed to be the only person left in his family. A family cursed with death and violence and most likely didn’t want them to end up dying or hurt and tried to distance himself from people like Lady, Trish, Morrison, and Patty from time to time but wanted to be with them at the same time. It wasn’t until he ran into Nero 5 years after DMC 2 and made the connection that he was Vergil’s son through the connection of Yamato. With that, Dante was able to breathe knowing that he’s an uncle and can become a bit happier knowing that he has someone related to him that he could consider family. He even managed to make amends with his brother (thank Nero for that, Dante), making up for a lost time after all that fighting, hatred, and bloodshed the two surrounded themselves in.

@alexkyrylivk51022 жыл бұрын
@@daburusu 1) comparing Dante from dmc1/2 and Dante from dmc 5 is fucking stupid. They were created by different people with different intentions in different time periods. It's like comparing Thor from the first two movies(where he was serious and dark) and Thor from the last two movies(in which marvel basically turned him into a clown and a joke). Same character, different vision/ideas/production. 2) lmfao, Dante does care about killing Vergil. In the end of dmc 3 he literally cried because of his brother falling into the demonworld/underworld. 3) indeed, Dante was "happy" in the end of dmc 1. However, in the dmc anime, which chronologically took place after the events of dmc 1, Dante with each episode was becoming more inactive/quieter, thus realising his loneliness and getting depressed.

You know if you think about it This version of Dante can be good to the story Dmc3- Dante was sad over Vergil Dmc1- Dante was forced to kill Vergil because of Mundus which weighed heavy over his heart Dmc anime- Dante is slowly falling into a deep depression as shown in the ending credits where he is seen drinking alone in the dmc shop but was had friends to help him out(Patty, Lady, Trish, Morrison) Dmc2- Dante is a different man at this point, losing most of his charisma and getting a more serious outlook on life. Dmc4- Dante's depression is sorta resolved in a way when he meets Nero because he gets the sense of Vergil or maybe he sense the blood of Sparda and in response doesn't feel so alone. With Nero being in his life, it in a way restarts him bringing back all of his charisma and character. I know I'm probably stretching a bit but it's just my personal look at Dante and how he's evolved

Remember people, chronologically DMC2 comes after 1 and way after 3. In that time Dante watched his lost brother die twice, both by his own hands, and then watched someone who looked like his mother supposedly die as well. As such, he became a lot more reserved in this game, thinking that would be the best way to keep those he considers his friends and family safe. By no means am I defending this game, it’s a bunch of hot garbage, but at least cut Dante a little slack in this game, even if he is boring as hell.

0:38 “Don’t speak…just DIE.” At a moment like this Dante would’ve got on with something like “Oh, you can talk! I’m surprised that you weren’t the only Cerberus I’ve dealt with before!” But because (long before DMC 5 retconned the entire DMC storyline via chronological order) he’s seen so much death and destruction while enduring it, combined with the fact he has no family left (Nero went on his own path and the rest such as Lady, Trish, Patty and Morrison have either abandoned him, retired or have been killed) with his age kicking in hard (I’d say Dante was around his mid-to-late 40s or early-50s), he doesn’t give a shit anymore. He can’t be bothered to have a goofy cocky moment as he’s had enough, all he cares about now with the only thing left in him and that is to hunt and kill any demon with zero hesitation or an enemy that’s looking to finish or carry on what Arkham, Mundus and Sanctus have started or attempted to start. THAT is how character and story development should be portrayed without forcing it out. Shame we never cared about DMC 2 Dante as much as we care about other incarnations of this badass demon-slayer.

@denebkaitos75119 ай бұрын
yea, people do hate on 2 dante a lot, but I find this does make sense canonically. if we go with the chronology that this happens after 1 and the animated series and its allusions to dante being depressed, I wouldn't be surprised by his uncharacteristic withdrawn-ness. we do still see glimpses of his usual cocky quippiness, it's just extraordinarily subdued. apart from that though, the gameplay was pretty dogwater, which cemented this as the worst (asides from the reboot-which-must-never-be-named). which is quite unfortunate, as his personality in 2 does give insight into his headspace before he ran into Nero in 4 and found a reason to break out of his downward spiral. this is all my opinion though, so take it with a grain of salt.

@DARKSOULPRIMEX3 жыл бұрын
There’s a roaming theory that since this takes place after DMC 1 and the anime, we more or less see his attitude shift due to him going thru a certain depression. This of course stems over the loss of Vergil twice and overcoming one of the most powerful demons in his world. So with no family left and pretty much no one to challenge him, he starts taking himself way too seriously and finds little joy in life. It to say he has absolutely no sense of humor left or is completely bleak, we still see his humor spark here and there during his “dark” period, but he returns to his clownful ways once he meets Nero, and as he’s explained in cutscenes before, he suspected him to be related somehow the moment they met and especially once Nero began using the Yamato.
@dofydudes17353 жыл бұрын
actually you can see his transition clearly in DMC4. He was cheerful when talking to Lady and Trish but on the field working he looked really serious, and just quick to get the job done (one shot into Sanctus head) and doesn't speak a single work. But the moment he fought with Nero in the cathedral he is more and more happy 'cause he suspected Nero was a hybrid like him too. Then when Dante saw the Devil Bringer he knew, and from then on you can see goofball Dante back again because he's certain Nero was somewhat similar to him.
