Vergil became obsessed with power to protect the ones he loves, so he'd never lose them again, but has long since lost sight of the the WHY he wants power, and instead focuses on the HOW he can obtain more, become better, become stronger. This is something his brother even points out to him in 3, though Vergil doesn't want to hear it. Honestly give this series a try if you haven't by now, it's honestly such a beautiful tragedy imo.

Casey Edwards truly is a mastermind when it comes to songs, he made a song that's near enough 10 minutes long and it NEVER gets boring to listen to.
