I wish Alastor or Force Edge remained Dante's main weapon throughout the series. I still don't understand why they took a random sword like Rebellion, introduced just as randomly in one of the worst games in the series, and decided to make it Dante's trademark weapon in the entire franchise.

@@KalvinEllis well if you think about it from a lore/story perspective it makes sense to give Dante Rebellion. Sparda had Force Edge/Devil Sword Sparda as his signature weapon and later gave his sons their own signature weapons, i.e Vergil w/ Yamato and Dante w/ i.e. Rebellion. He just used alot of weapons throughout the series but Rebellion was the weapon that unlocked Dante's DT

@@marko8699 Yeah but Rebellion was only retconned to be that since DMC3. When it was originally introduced in DMC2, there was no backstory about where Rebellion came from, it was only described as being "a standard sword", DMC3 is what came up with the backstory that it was a magical blade and a keepsake from Dante's father. That's why I mentioned they literally took a random sword from DMC2 and made it Dante's main weapon throughout the series.

This is a defining moment for Dante IMO Not only does it show just how durable and powerful this man is, but it also shows his disregard for what's practical, usually only caring about making the job fun while getting it done.

Devil May Cry 5 is a great game and im glad we finally got a continuation outside of the garbage reboot series, but I sensed some hints of laziness in the making of DMC 5

@@theniceguy7824 Cerberus makes sense because do you really think the gates to the thing that turns you into a god would be unguarded? Why not add the most powerful Cerberus breed to make up for when Dante lost the original Cerberus? Balrog is from the prequel novel and acts completely different from Ifrit. And unlike Ifrit, Balrog actually has story and personality. Just because its fire gauntlets that doesn't mean its laziness. If you want to know the reason they don't add previous weapons is because Dante sells them to pay for his shop

This is actually the most accurate version of the cutscene after the ps2. I've seen another version where dante's hand is disjointed after he's impaled by alastor and the blood effect on the sword looked worse in that version. Also there's this blur effect when dante removes himself from alastor but his eyes still flash when he opens them when in the ps2 version they didn't flash.
