After nearly a year it's finally here! My first MAP is complete!
This project is very dear to me, and has been such a wonderful experience to host. I've met so many amazing and talented people through this, and everyone has done such an amazing job putting this all together.

Fathom... The fragile innocent soul who got roped into the bloodiest horror and came out clean. Ever since the incident with his grandfather, he was horrified of himself, and the world was horrified of him too. He lived for years in isolation, he swore to never have dragonets, and he was forbidden to be with his true love. Nothing could ever seem more hopeless than his position in that point in his life. He really didn’t have a single reason to keep going. And then one day he was given the chance to prevent someone else from ending up like his grandfather, but that someone encouraged him to risk ending up like him instead. He was both stressed and horrified but he never gave in. His big heart prevented him from ever falling into the madness of losing his soul. But that meant he would have to watch someone close to him fall to the madness of their power once again. Right from the start Fathom was doomed to a life of both misery and terror. He was born with a special gift that nearly everyone around him either wanted to exploit or get rid of. Most of those around him either feared him or wanted to use him. It was practically impossible for him to find a way out of the nightmare and end his story with a smile. But despite all that, he managed to get his happy ending. He got to be with his true love and a family of their own. And thanks to his innocent soul, he never had to worry about losing it to the magic. His hard effort to stay good had paid off.

Poor Fathom. Poor Albatross. Both deserved better. In reality, it was Lagoon who drove Albatross to insanity by constantly saying he was replaceable. A monster. Someone who could never escape her. She even wanted him to kill his own daughter, but he refused! Lagoon, I hate you.

I love the touch of Albatross's blood being blue, it suggests that Icewing blood is relatively new to Seawing royalty (as in the trait for blue blood hasn't yet been bred out of the line yet.) I honestly wonder how an Icewing and a Seawing ended up together, was it arranged? Maybe there was some sort of alliance thing. The Icewings didn't seem upset that the Seawings have animus powers now, maybe it's because their animus returned home/married into another royal family instead of staying away/marrying a common dragon

The lyrics in some of this is so good XD Like: "I lost it, that was when my grandpa's carcass emerged from the dark, gurgling his words of carnage but he couldn't talk. Something about the vert of sadness. I scurried off, I was on the verge of madness!" SO BOOTIFUL. The lyrics matches him BEAUTIFULLY! I even like how it says "granddad" because Albatross WAS his grandpa in the books. F in the chat for Fathom. He has been through so much. He cared about his grandfather deeply and looked up to him so much. They started to actually hang out but then he had to be the one to end him. Fathom must have been so strucken by the fact that the Albatross he knew that told him stories and made jokes, mentoring him and all of that stuff. He must have been so confused and shocked that his grandpa turned out that way and killed his entire family. Then, after he had to suffer through the most horrifying event in Wof history, he got separated from Indigo and everyone treated him like he was just like Albatross. That messed with his brain, because when he was at the Night Kingdom, multiple times, he tells Indigo he isnt safe. Like he is going to end up like his grandfather and everyone is going to die. Then, Fathom starts to hang out AGAIN with Darkstalker just to see him slowly go insane, just like with Albatross. His best friend, Dark, helped him out whenever he felt scared, they had fun together, and in the books, it mentioned that he could start to forget what happened to his entire family. Darkstalker just keeps ignoring Fathom while Fathom is trying to convince Darkstalker to stop using magic. Then Indigo "disappears" and abandons him, so now Fathom also feels like no one cares about him. And then, when Darkstalker enchanted his father and told him to kill himself. Clearsight takes his scroll away and tells Fathom "It's too late, he is crazy." So, poor Fathom had to enchant his friend to basically "die" like what he did to his grandfather (not really, but it might feel that way to him) a dragon he really cared about. So yeah, he has been through quite a lot, so lets get some sympathy in the chat

Oh my- That was STUNNING. (This one’s going into my special playlist for SURE.) Fathom and Albatross are the two best character sin this entire series and no one can change my mind. The amount of complexity around each of their character arcs is just insane. I could reread that subplot over and over and still get chills up my spine when Albatross is slowly losing it and then starts hunting his family. Freaking awesome

Theory: Animus magic is the devil in Wings of Fire, it gives the dragon that has animus powers the ability to do anything, literally, anything, but while also slowly draining their soul and making them insane. Animuses have tried to protect their souls (DarkStalker and Anemone, for an example), but still the ability to do anything slowly drained their sanity, just like it’s often mentioned in Talons of Power, animus magic is often used to make the dragon’s life better and easier, for an example if I was an animus I would enchant the dishes to wash themself after I made food, or enchanted the food to make itself. But still, with the dishes washing themself and the food cooking itself, unlike in the reality where I cooked the food and washed the dishes, in the reality with magic dishes and sh*t I wouldn’t feel accomplished after doing it. And so on, I’d be enchanting more simple things to make my life easier, but still I would lack that feeling of accomplishment completely, if I enchanted my pen to write only the correct answers on an exam and got an A, and told my parents, which would be proud, but I’d still have that rotting feeling of fake success in myself, and it bottling up with many other fake accomplishments. I could enchant something to have a partner, be rich, have no job to do. And I’d have infinite time, instead of constantly working hard to get some free time to relax and have that amazing feeling. I’d soon fall into depression amongst many other mental illnesses (dbdbdbbdhd i already have depression LMAO), and soon take my life, to end my suffering, and then find myself in hell (Suicide is an unforgivable sin? I dunno i’m atheist lol). Work is one of the things that makes people happy. Remember that time when you made your family your first meal? Sure it might’ve been bad or good, but you felt good for a moment. The hard work paid off, you’ve felt that feeling, like you matter, you put effort into something for yourself and others, accomplishment. Without that, you could just enchant the food to cook itself and be great. Your family would compliment you and say it’s good, you’d thank them but that dark thought, the food wasn’t made by you, you’re not good, you’re not capable of anything without help, you’re bad, you’re dumb, you don’t deserve to live. Do you agree with me? (Also, excuse my grammar and spelling mistakes, this is an overused excuse but I’m not English, hope you liked my theory, thanks for understanding! :>)

I headcanon that there's a very real possibility, that if Indigo didn't go with Fathom... that Darkstalker wouldn't have become evil... or, at least not as bad as he ended up being, But then, Fathom would probably... well... lets just say, wouldn't want to live anymore after the events of Darkstalker took place. All his family essentially hates him, and wants nothing to do with him because of his magic.. same with his entire tribe. Then on top of that, witnessing something that caused him serious PTSD, and then one of his own friends becoming evil, and he himself had to do something to stop it... All of this, put together, and given the right situations, would lead Fathom to be so isolated, and alone, that there would be nothing left for him no matter where he went. It's painful to think about, but for me... that feels like such a real possibility, that I can't rule out the idea that it could have happened.

BIG BIG POGGERS!!!!!! I was at golf so I wasnt able to watch it at the premiere sadly ;-;. During my whole practice this song was STUCK IN MY HEAD AAAA!!!
