Booker is the best right now, & has probably been the best for a couple years now, but honestly the SG class is a lot weaker nowadays compared to the days of Kobe, Wade, VC, T-Mac, Iverson, etc. Anthony Edwards is on the come up though & I believe he'll take the "Best SG in the NBA" title from Booker soon, probably within the next year or next couple years or so. I think Ant has the potential to get to that Kobe-Wade level, not saying he'll win as many chips as them (if even any), but just in terms of an individuality he could become as great as them. I mean if he doesn't win any chips, at the worst he's a healthy T-Mac (one of the greatest talents ever but no rings), but at Ant's ceiling I think he could get to that Kobe-Wade level of play. He just needs to brush up on his game, shoot better & stop having nights where he goes 10-28 so often, & get smarter. He's still super young so I'd expect him to get better. I'm not really confident in the Wolves getting Ant the help he needs throughout his career though, I don't really trust in the KAT-Gobert tandem, but Wolves are doing great right now though, so hopefully I'm wrong. KAT is so talented, he should be mentioned alongside names like AD, Jokic, Giannis, Embiid, but although the talent is there, he's just not on their level. I think a perfect pairing would be like Ant & Embiid.

@@timjohnson6694 I actually am assuming that. Offensively he's great, but his offense is more finesse compared to those great SGs. MJ, Kobe, Wade are a lot grittier, they'll slash & dunk on Bigs, you don't see Booker do that much. Defensively he probably won't ever get to the level that those guys were on either, it's honestly not even close. Kobe & MJ has been on Defensive 1st team 9x's, Wade's been on Defensive 2nd team 3x's. Booker's been in the NBA almost 10 years & hasn't even been close to getting any defensive award nods. The big difference is probably that Booker's not as athletically gifted as they are either, that gives them a lot of edge both offensively & defensively. You don't ever hear people comparing Booker to MJ, Kobe, Wade, etc. or you don't ever hear people predicting he'll even finish as a top 5 SG ever. You hear that about Ant though, the potential is a crazy difference. Like I said, there aren't a lot of great SG's in the NBA right now, there hasn't been for almost the past decade (Kobe's & Wade's last peak years were 2013), not trying to talk Booker down, he's great for the current times but he's the best almost just by default. There just weren't that many great SG's as of recent, some perennial Allstars but nobody you would say is a top 10 SG of all time other than maybe Harden & Klay.

If you watched him and analyzed his game more I think your opinion might change. ANT certainly has a shot at being the best SG someday, kid is so young. But Book is the best right now not by "default" but because he's really fucking good. He's hardly even been 100% healthy so far this season and he's still 28/6/8 on fantastic efficiency. He's also a good defender, especially when he wants to turn it up ie in the playoffs, but you're right, he's certainly no MJ on that end.

@@Washanuga He only gets the Kobe comparisons due to his shooting ability (via post moves, fadeaways, etc). I mean he's good, like I said I didn't mean to disrespect him, but he definitely won't be a top 5 SG someday, especially at this pace, & if he doesn't win a ring or any MVP's he might not even crack the top 10. His defense can be solid, but definitely nowhere near MJ, Kobe or Wade. Booker's best year defensively rating was at 109 during the 21-22 season, that's comparable to Kobe & Wade's worst year. Like I said, the SG position since 2013 has been weak. Other than Klay & Harden, there's really been nobody notable. And Klay only gets the nod because he's on a great team that's won 4 rings. Harden has the stats & MVP. Also, not to mention Booker hasn't been even close to getting an MVP either. He's only cracked top 10 in voting once, when he was 4th in 2022. Wade didn't win any, but he cracked the top 10 many times, Kobe won once & MJ won 5. Booker is good, but there really is no competition for him at that position. Imagine if T-Mac, VC, & Ray Allen played in today's era, they're easily better than all the best SG's right now aside from maybe Booker & Ant, & those 3 guys weren't even the best during their times, just shows how weak today's class of SG's are right now & for the past 10 years.
