Unfortunately for Haney, getting rocked by Linares, and then going into survival mode the last couple of rounds, tells me that he will not live up to the “Mayweather” hype. Mayweather fought one of the biggests punchers in lightweight history during his prime (Diego Corrales), and absolutely destroyed him. If you are not a power puncher, and you solely depend on boxing skills, you better have a great chin, or you will end up getting pressured by knock out artists until they get to you.

Nakatani was a tough fight for Teo, but Nakatani is a 6’1 fighter, who was undefeated with a record of 18 wins 12 KOs, when he fought Teo, and it’s in his prime. Nakatani just knocked out Felix Verdejo in his last fight. Linares is not known for punching power, plus he has been knocked out 5 times, twice in his last couple of fights. Devin should wait it out before he gets in the ring with Teo, he will probably get stopped.

Haney is still very young too don't forget so with the consistent effort and dedication he's putting in daily I think his all round strength and durability is bound to continue improving alongside his already fundamentally sound and advanced Boxing Skills. I like Haney and thinks he’s talented but I think him being “labeled” champion has gone to his head. He was gifted that belt but he always mentions/carries it around like he actually won it. Asking what belt Tank has just shows his arrogance and is disrespectful since Tank has been champion in multiple weight classes and actually had to beat the champion to get them. At the end of a day he is a champion regardless of how it came to be but he needs to tone it down (the arrogance of being a champion not his confidence(which I like))IMO.

From a completely unbiased perspective and an observer of the sport, I'm genuinely surprised so many people like Devin. The guy had a less-than-impressive finish in his last fight against an aged Linares who was taunting Haney for more during the later rounds of the fight. Then, after the fight, he fronted in the interviews and said he wasn't hurt when he was clearly staggering and needed help finding his way back to his corner -- even the announcers had made a comment about it. Look, obviously Haney is a good fighter but Gervonta Davis and Teofimo Lopez are in a different class than this guy and that's just the objective reality of it. They're fighting better fighters and finishing fights in a tougher, more skilled and impressive fashion. Never a boring fight with those guys. I'm not saying Haney isn't great, he is, but he's also a step behind the likes of Davis/Lopez and a couple others, in my opinion.
