Hester was NO question a better return man than than Sanders. Sanders only had 9 special teams TD's. The rest of his were defensive (Fum. Recovery/int). Hester got ALL of his on ST. He should be a sure fire HoF. I think if your the best at what you did, no matter if it's throwing, catching, kicking, punting or returning, you should be in the hall.

I'll never forget that Super Bowl opening kickoff return for a TD. I truly thought my Bears were going to win that game. Still though, that game was a thrill to watch, & Devon throughout his Bears career brought so MUCH street-cred to the organization, so desperately needed due to the McCaskeys & their cheap-ass way they ran the Bears. I want to see Devon Hester with a Gold Jacket on some day, as he redefined special teams, & did it with class & selflessness!!!

Hester wore #23 cause at the time, he was drafted as a defensive back (prior to the rules change, defensive backs wore numbers between 20 and 49). About #23 in Chicago, only the Blackhawks have not been so lucky. No player wearing #23 on the team has been the "set the world on fire" type of player (you got Ryan Sandberg with the Cubs, MJ for the Bulls, and Kyle Fuller has his work cut out if he wants to surpass Hester).

I used to run that way as a kid and as a teen. Once when I was about 15 we were playing basketball when we decided to do Football Kick-Return Basketball Kickoff. AKA Slaughter. The idea was to run back a basketball "kicked" or thrown to you by the coverage team, where you had no blockers, because your former teammates were gathered at the other end of the gym with all the heretofore opponents - - so, usually about about 8 or 9 to 1. It was two-hand tap for a tackle. I took the "kick" and ran through the middle of 8 aspiring tacklers and nobody touched me, and we were all good and rabidly competitive athletes at that time. Downside: I realized, as i crossed the goal line, that I had won, but also that within my sneakers I had torn loose the skin on the bottoms of the balls of both feet, in making those cuts. I'd give the bottoms of both feet again to do that again. Point being: I can feel every cut Devin Hester makes, and why he does it at that exact moment.It's just applied physics.
