I used to second guess every note I played. Every time I found a new lick I was wondering how to string it into a song. Damn near made me give up music. Then I started making music I never planned to release, and I learned to get over it. Looking forward to this series, I really like hearing about the process rather than seeing a few people jamming in a studio.

That's the thing I love about Devin. At my core, I'm a metalhead. I love me some chunky, heavy as shit music. And Devin can deliver those sounds in spades. But the thing is with him, many of my favorite Devin songs are actually his mellower and softer songs. There is not a single song I've heard from this man that isn't amazing in one way or another. Fuck, I even love when he's just talking. I watch interviews and guitar clinics (being a guitarist myself) all the time. It's a joy just to hear the man period.

It almost feels like cheating because you can accomplish things in Open C that sound way more complicated than they are. He's a genius.

I had the pleasure of meeting Devin back in 2017 at the ramblin man fair in the UK about a week before mine and my now wife's wedding and in the few minutes I got to spend with him I just felt overwhelmed with joy, being able to meet a guy that has such a powerful voice (the best in the business) he was so down to earth and calm, we also played true north as our entrance music at our wedding, when I told him about it he was over the moon that we chose one of he's songs, thank you Devin for being you, you change people's lives everyday with your music, you are helping even if you can't see it. 😁

I regularly listen to your _whole_ body of work. Everything from the ambient albums and Ghost, to the early demos and Punky Brüster, the SYL albums and all the early solo records (I enjoy a lot of harsh Industrial so I actually really enjoy the crunchy 'low quality' mastering on Physicist), the more laid back albums like Ki and Causalities, all the B-sides. I regularly listen to a song you literally fart into a microphone on, and it's awesome. I don't see how an addition to that body of work would be out of place as long as it comes from you and what you want to create and collaboratively be a part of. I've been listening since 1996, I think my favorite song you've ever done is a toss-up between 'Demon League' and 'Love Tonight'. Also 'Happy Birtday' is pretty great, Epicloud arrived right near mine and my girlfriend's birthdays and we always felt like you were singing that song to us =)

bah, when i put Ziltoid the Omniscience, i do not listen to all the songs on a regular basis, i gave it a full listen maybe like 4 or 5 times but i put the metal songs in the list as i game and that must of looped hundreds of times if i do it every day for many years! thing is, you cannot expect some one to fulfill ALL your expectations so in my case, if you put a few metal songs on Empath, then when i am done listening to the whole set of songs, the metal ones will go on repeat! also did you catch NAMMTHRAX?
