I very recently started listening to Slipknot (I know Corey doesn't approve of the terminology, but for lack of a better word,) religiously, and I agree whole-heartedly. I appreciate them venturing into more experimental music recently, but Iowa best epitomizes the ideologies for which the band was created. The purity which they proffer to their fans in this album is venerable, and is worthy of praise by any Slipknot fan.

If you can, go to their show. Corey (singer) can work a crowd like no other, but not only do you feel his love and passion for the music, but for the fans. I saw them for the first time in 1998/99, and for the 8th time last weekend at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines (the origional lineup's hometown). They have yet to put on a bad show, and they tear down wherever they play.

Answer for ya -- I was living in England when Slipknot blew up... Slipknot is from Iowa but Americans were not as receptive to their music initially. English fans were the ones who elevated slipknot in the music world and the band knows this. They only made it here in the US because they made it in England first. I actually didn't get into slipknot until much later because their fans in my college (high school) were almost like a plague. It spread like crazy and I didn't want to contract any diseases from their fans... but Slipknot's greatness eventually forced me to recognize it and that's how I became a 'maggot'. Bruh... and Jim Root's solo on 'psychosocial'... 2 weeks of trying to shred that bitch on my guitar and could never play it perfectly, at tempo; it's a monster.

At 2:34 that is indeed a keg. Clown and Long Nose (you can probably figure out who they are) are considered the "custom percussionist" and often are seen taking a baseball bat to the keg for the unique ringing sound it makes. If you rewatch Duality you will see them do it a couple times and once you see it you will definitely be able to make out the noise it makes. Shits lit.
