Man, this song is really, really morbid. It's about a a female news anchor, Christine Chubbuck, who was the first person to commit suicide on live television, in 1974, apparently because she couldn't find love.

It's basically a poetic way of saying you make me want to kill myself because of unrequited love--the same reason Chubbuck did it for. Pretty morbid if you ask me.

Yeah it's a great melody, but lyrically...not great. "I miss you so much I want to shoot myself in the face."...while referencing an actual suicide....that's a hard message to convey without sounding really tacky.

when i first listened to devita i thought she was pretty ok and seemed like she had potential but was still somewhat unpolished. Listening to her more, I started to notice how soothing, smooth, and pleasing her voice is. I'm excited to see her try different styles and genres, do more collaborations, and think she will become an aomg staple just like hoody (although she is quite different from hoody ofc :)

it's just my opinion that at her song 'Movies', 'she' and her lover committed a 'crime' and 'she' died. The lyrics of Movies are slightly ambiguous. We don't know exactly what happened, but she died and was reincarnated after sometime with all those memories of her 'previous life'. That is why she still wants him and asks him if he can wait till she grows up to 19 because she met him first in her 'previous life' at her age of 19. Maybe that was 1974. With all those sad memories and hurtful feelings, she still wants him, but she knows that she can't meet him anymore because she doesn't even know whether he's still alive. All she can do is just reminisce 1974 when she was with him. When you guys see the last scene of 'Movies' she changed her clothing from white one to this black one, and the set of this music video is the same with that of 'Movies'. It's a proof that these two songs are linked. Maybe that is the reason why she says 'what she wants is everything she cannot have'.

I'm guessing Devita is singing about unrequited love, and it hurts so much "you make me feel like 1974 live". But you're pretty much right, it's about wanting something you can't have :(
