hi i am a student of mythology 🙏 I actually want to make a small correction in ur comment that during early vedic period all people were following Hinduism as u have seen in various tv shows And during that time the religion was one that was Hinduism (cause it the oldest religion) and the cast system was based on your profession . And the people were having full liberty to choose their caste . But in later vedic period some monster like people people made this caste system very rigid. And they also made the religious practices very costly due to which the people started changing there religion. Can't say anything about Islam but yaa the Christianity religion was attracted by most of the people who were fed up or cannot afford the rich religion practices. Hope u guys understand

Yogesh Desai BG as it is is an OK introductory version but Prabhupad was not a scholar of Sanskrit! end of story. I’m glad you’re reading it, something is always better than nothing. He got murdered in the end by his closest ‘Jewish’ devotees. He was a simple man carrying a simple truth but who never took the poisonous viper like attitude of the Europeans into account. I met him many times in London and still carry a love for him in my heart.

Ivar Hakuse Srila Prabhupada's 'Bhagavad Gita as it is' is used as a textbook in many universities around the world is enough to convey the message that he was a scholar and pure devotee of Lord Krishna. It is the only version of Gita which gives word to word translation of Sanskrit verses which makes it the most authentic. His followers of all religions are successfully spreading his mission all over the world today. As an Indian I can clearly see how Bhagavad Gita as it is written by Srila Prabhupada is more correct than other versions of Gita available.

Regarding several universities around the world other than that old statement being reprinted on the back cover, I can’t say I could name a single one. In the 1960’s every Hindu automatically became a scholar of Sanskrit because of reciting a couple of memorized verses. Prabhupād made a mess out of his rendition of the isha upanishad for which he was given ample chiding. His quick glossing over the chapter on ‘The field and the knower of the field’ clearly shows that he was out of his depth here. He was after all a businessman by profession and not a philosopher. He never pretended to be a philosopher as he was a pure bhakta. Yes his translation of Bengali word for word translations does make it useful but the Sanskrit translation was not his. During a personal conversation he remarked ‘isn’t it a miracle that these Europeans are chanting the name of Krishna? To which he was answered ‘but the greatest miracle is that you made all this happen without knowing a single word of sanskrit’.

There are some St. Thomas Christians or also known as Kurien Christians in Kerala who came to India in the second century. Although most of them were forced to convert by the European settlers or they converted themselves because of the caste system in Hinduism

The person who came to India might be another Thomas but not one of the apostles. You should check out the books by religious historian Robert Eric Frykenberg. As for Raam, it is a very old event to have physical historical evidence. It is like saying that there is no evidence of Abraham's stick or chappals so he did not exist. Nevertheless, there is a lot of circumstantial evidence to the existence of Raam. Like the names of places, locations and cities visited by Raam and co. during their Vanvasa. Also the existence of Rama Setu between India and Sri Lanka which has been identified to be an artificial structure and very old.

Even historically, if multiple sources describe the same historical event, then it is taken as an actual event.
