It would be more of an actual Experiment if Devon really sended ZERO and i mean No signals to the left arm. He still used it as a party arm and the body recognizes it as "Both sides getting used" and dont favor the other. Yes he was not lifting weights with it, but pulling someone at the table is Resistance training like any other weightlifting thing. So we dont know for sure what would have happend if he would have just used his right Arm 100% and the left zero %.

As someone who started pumpkin training almost right as I started im going to say that the newbie gains still have not stopped. I went from 12.5in to 15in in just over a year. Riser went from 45lb to 87.5lb. Pronation from 60lb to 110lb while being 145-150lb myself.

The whole concept of giant pumpkin training is fundamentally absurd. The human body is a kinetic chain no part of it functions completely separate from another part. Of course you train for arm wrestling differently than you would if you were a power lifter, but in both cases you don't just focus on one body part to save time. It's just silly, and it's certainly not healthy either. No one should do it.

It sucks for North American athletes that they have to travel much further and be put at a disadvantage, but unfortunately politics ruin things for them. Russian athletes would not be able to get there like others pointed out. That's not a huge deal for the Shaw Classic because there are not that many elite.level Russian strongmen, but in armwrestling we have Vitaly Laletin who's arguably a top 10 in the SHW, and then there are many other Russian high level armwrestlers.
