The mere fact that over the top is all about arm wrestling then no matter what storyline or what people were portrayed in it... It elevated the sport. I was introduced to arm wrestling because of that movie at a young age when it first came out.. so yes, the movie helped arm wrestling and elevated it... Nothing less.

Never heard of game of arms, I'll try and check it out. I was a HUGE fan of Over the top and use to love to arm wrestle in highschool during lunch hour (I sucked), but I completely forgot about till I saw Pulling John on netflix and from that point on Ive been watching it on youtube. I bet I am not the only person that got into it or got back into because of Pulling John.

The best of arm wrestling (for me as a fan) is that blue collar feel it has to it... That's why I like WAL so much it's sort of sport meets sports entertainment ( WWE feel)... It's real sport made interesting with all the fuckery at the table
