Ello my dears!
We are back on Cobblebottom Row today, back with Detective Miller's little cottage. We finish today by furnishing the whole cottage and having a little tour around. I'll be back next week with another home and new sim to add to this lot! ENJOY!

I picture Sean and whoever he's in a romance with were high school and uni sweethearts. They had a really rough breakup and have never been able to really untangle themselves from each other. They have the same close knit, small friend group and while he's had flings over the years, he's always carried a torch for his ex

Can I suggest upstairs in their office if they are investigating looking for the killer that they have a big notice board that they are trying to work out the mystery on with photos of suspects and I know you can’t do the lines between them with string but you could do little postcards of locations or little bits of paper or signs from debug that could act as post it’s with notes on of why stuff is relevant or something. Failing that just whack the usual noticeboard for like a student common room or something above Rose’s desk as I feel they would have a notice board of some type in that room for so reason I also agree a sized up corbel might make the front door look less crowded that the pillar being there too LOVE the start of this mini serious though. You can never have too many shots of hot sims in their pants lol

Just to let you know that the coat rack from Snowy Escape has got a footprint and blocks sims from going up and down the stairs, at least in my experience. Beautiful house once again, but I just wanted to warn you ☺️

I must say, your videos come out around 2pm here in Brazil, so it's after lunch, right when my energy levels are kind of meh and I want to give up work and just take a nap. But then the video is out and I'm excited to have your company to kick-off the afternoon part of my work. So thank you.

I love the idea that Miller enjoys good coffee and wine, people may have been surprise at first when discovering this about him, but now everyone of his closest friends and members of the community just love to gift him with wines e coffees from different places when they travel. They always remember him and make sure to visit him as soon as they get back, so that's kind of the entertaining Miller likes doing: welcoming not large groups, but a few friends to make them feel right at home again. And OMG I do the same with clean laundry!!!! I never put it away the same day, just the next.

If you want to place an object outside but don't want it to block a sim's path, you can go down to the basement level, turn on the grid, place it there without making a room, and lift it up with the T.O.O.L. mod. You can even move it outside the lot with the mod and it will still be considered part of the basement, so it won't block paths on the ground floor. It will have outside lighting and weather effects (like snow piling up on it), too. This might solve your problems with the footpath!

You may have seen me comment it on the last video, but I really kinda think that it would be cool if one of the detectives had birdwatching as a cover for keeping an eye on the village with binoculars and stuff. Maybe Rose has a balcony on the back of her cottage, where she watches birds (and the goings on in the town, with all these hooded people showing up in history and the present). It would also tie into Sean's hiking and outdoorsy hobbies, if she actually likes watching birds beyond the cover story. It could fit really well with the village, some small tucked away villages near water are famous for birdwatching after all, especially with migrating cranes, storks and waterfowl.

Next to the tire in front of the house is a perfect place for a bin. You could add the portrait of Miller's dad in the office. Maybe he was also a detective but died many years ago in strange circumstances. Besides, I understand why you prepick every furnitures but I really like when I see the process, when you try a few items until the one. I get that for the rythm of the video it's complicated. But maybe some rooms, from time to time, especially in shorter parts like this. I don't know I may be the only one on this.

I love how the interior says a lot about his personality! BTW, for the ceiling, I use the white base game carpet to give the effect of the "pop corn ceiling", maybe it can work in here

I know we're a bit away from getting to the person who owns the bakery/landlord but would it be interesting if their daughter was the Detective's ex that got away. So ex does frequently visit Cobblebottom row often to either visit their parent or even assists in the bakery, and knows how the detective likes to take his coffee.

Sean strikes me as a man with a cat. He’s the type to put a photo with a work dog on his dating profile to lure in a mate and then they’re disappointed when he has a solitary, aloof cat. Due to his shift pattern, a dog won’t work for him as he can’t walk it or feed it. So a cat would suit his lifestyle better. The cat isn’t a super cuddly cat so they both co-exist in the house together. Some days, the cat is the only being that Sean actually talks to. I see him as a bit of a loner.

it'd be fun if there was a cute little love interest for him! one of the other comments said that he looks like he's been single for a while/carrying a torch for his ex. but maybe one of the other neighbors on his street has caught his interest, and he has to stumble awkwardly through all of their interactions. idk if the landlady is supposed to be an elder sim, but it would be so cute to have some grumpy/sunshine action with him and a bakery owner! they could bond over a love of gardening

Random comment for algorithm so storytime I once woke up feeling bit sick with migraine like a month ago and I had just ate breakfast which is when I normally sit and watch these vids, and so I went to bed fully clothed with my headset on and left you playing in my ears whilst I napped away the migraine, it worked fantastically your voice was relaxing and I woke up feeling fantastic. So all videos are now approved by science to cure migraines if accompanied by a nap!

I know, no doubt, that you’ll do this anyways but be double sure and play test the street/pavement decor things outside - I tried using them in a build myself and it caused a world of problems for routing!! Big love from sunny(ish) wales!!

Its as beautiful as you darling! where they filmed the new series "The Red King" (Crime mini series with a cracking British Cast in Northumberland but set in a non existent seaside island in Wales calls St. Jory) in Craster. Stunning little almost Cornish like coastal area. I've been really low with grief this week, it's been a welcome boost of smiles watching your videos with a cup of tea! I have an idea that for training he went awya to the big city spent time there biot only for training but also to give himself some space so when he returned to the small village people were stand offish saw him as the city boy hence the village kids throwing eggs at his house. I say he's tried to make friends but what with him moving away and being a copper the rest of the village are wary of him. So he's not been able to make any friends. Add in the fact he works with his muym causes the gossipers to spread roumors about him. So he's at the point where he has stopped caring and had burried himself in work. I say his mum tries to help pull him out but he's too much like her stuborn so she just supports him best way she can. As for an idea for the office how about a photo of his late dad who was also a detective but died whilst on duty which is one of the reasons he joined the force to find out who killed his dad and maybe his dad was also investigating the goings on at the main house and it was during that investigation he died.
