One of the most memorable passages in a wonderful Yes discography.

not as young as he once was, but, damn, Steve still sounds great. Always loved that tune.

Saw Yes in 2000 in St. Louis. Kansas was the opening group. Had a photo pass, so I got to stand right at John Anderson’s feet for the whole concert in the photography pit. One of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. Fifth of six times that I saw Yes in concert.

Maybe not player - not a supreme natural - but composer, definitely. To my mind possibly the greatest guitar composers of all time of any genre

Back in the 70s, my favorite part of a Yes concert was this. It's thrilling. Steve's a genius. That bass player is really good. Very fine playing with those all-important "hooks" in the right spots. Nice.

I was never a big fan of Yes although I did see them playing Cardiff Capitol in 1973 (mainly to impress the girl I took with me as she was a big fan..... that didn't work 😂). However, this song has always been a great favourite of mine. Such a simple but compelling riff that just drives on in a quite relentless manner. Try watching on KZbin, Rick Wakeman with Brian May playing this.... it's brilliant.

Since the guitar part on the Yes album keeps it simple - I like it best out of all versions. The part where Chris Squire comes in with the tremolo is the best riff on the entire album.... You feel like an earth quake just hit and mountains are moving. This version is too improvised - it's like the performers are dabbling.

That cameraman is missing some fine bass work. Of course, Chris Squire's understated solo on TYA is beyond comparison.
