I actually had to break out Ben for some help shielding through that Pompey fight. This new mode is great. Gives me something to poke away at for a while, and with no limited time rewards associated it feels really great to be able to take my time approaching it rather than trying to sprint through the endgame stuff

I'm still trying my best to beat Pompey. No matter how much I try to dodge, even with Jane I can't evade every attack, and the shield from Seth can't block all the damage. It's probably a combination of skill issue and bad build, I guess I should improve on both 😓

If an enemy had an Ether weakness, I ran Caesar, Nicole, Zhu Yuan every time. When you get your Caesar parries and rotations right, Zhu Yuan’s damage goes CRAZY

I don't get the Zhu Yuan advice at all. She has a lot of damage in burst, sure, but so what? She still CAN deal damage without a stunned enemy, (and it's not like enemies are immune to stun, right?) and she's not a particularly unsafe character. It's the opposite, actually, since she's ranged and she also doesn't have any particularly long animations. I haven't tried post-25 yet, but I didn't see any reason Zhu Yuan would actually be bad. I mean, you had a 5 out of 10 mins on the floor 30 Butcher. It feels absurd to assume Zhu Yuan would take double the time.

yeah the zhu yuan comment was pretty out of pocket lol. She does fine, and one thing i noticed right in his footage is the fight against the thunder ethereal at 2:00, I was running zhu yuan team that fight and completely missed the boss using that huge aoe strike ability. This was thanks to the way ZY's team plays where you can burst him down from right around half health all the way to 0 in a single stun window, thus skipping any abilities that the ai only uses at low health. One run i straight up killed him before he can call the 2nd miniboss to the stage too.

I did post-25 butcher with Zhu Yuan/Nicole/Seth. Zhu Yuan is actually very nice since she can kite the bosses at a long distance. Seth is clutch shield/stunner too. Used Nicole for added def shred when the boss is stunned, but her ex special sometimes puts Zhu Yuan at a bad position since it instantly puts her very close to the boss. Also turning off damage indicators helped a lot

Clenching my butt all the way through floor 32 atm. Super happy they added this type of content to ZZZ. Gives more emphasis to grind for current and future Defense units and more support type bangboos instead of hard focusing on burst-type dps like in Shiyu.

Well, this does give me time to build my agents for the more challenging content, but it will take a lot of time. Stopping at Pompey (floor 15) might be the best floor to stop. Floors 1-15 are the only floors that offer polychromes. This tower does require a lot of team builds ready to go and lack that. Damn that Pompey was to tough to beat so many tries 😭

I played up to 36 in my first go and it felt pretty stressful in a good way. Not having the audio visual attack indicators from 26 or so onwards really shows how much of a crutch these are. Can’t imagine doing this without Caesar. The fact the her shield saves you from one hit no matter how high the damage is makes all the difference. Especially with the butcher. I got pretty good at dodging his attacks. Being able to eat a hit for free every once in a while makes this way easier. Gonna keep climbing, really curious how insane this is going to get.

Not only that, the anti stagger of her shield saves you to trigger dodges, counters even if your timing is off because you cant do it if you got staggered..

If you don't have Caesar, don't feel bad. She helps but it's totally doable without her. I'm using her but I'm still resetting multiple times until I go flawless. You still need to learn the monsters patterns and play accordingly even with a shield, because the shield melts with one hit anyway. Having good damage helps a lot Yanagi is really strong here, Jane Doe too and even Zhu Yuan. Actually, Zhu Yuan carried me until floor 23, but I switched to Yanagi/Burnice because Caesar was taking too long to stun and I don't have Quingy

1 shoot was never fun. They bumped the bosses buffs too much in all aspects, is not even about having a shield or not, since you take so much damage even 1 mistake or 1 bug will screw you over. speaking of bugs, the defensive assist not working and bosses killing the one you're switching assist from is another dog shit design. So yea, I cleared to 25, but they can remove this thing from the game because I'm not gonna go through all that bullshit again. One example of bad design at 3:37. In one second he's completely fked. He switched from Caesar who just got the shield up to Burnice and with 1 attack (actually 1 attack with 2 swings) Caesar takes damage and his shield on Burnice is completely removed with 1 swing and then Burnice HP gets halved from the second swing. This is such a bad design, not only the character who you switch from takes damage, but also the character that you are on does.

This content opens the door for potential units that are healers or more units that scale off things hp or defense. Just imagine an anomaly or support that drops a hp/energy orb when you proc anomaly. Or a attack that applies a debuff that lifesteals for whole team, maybe even a stunner that burst heals when you daze possibilities are endless for how devs want to tackle sustain units beyond shields

I'm starting to think they'll never make content that aligns with my roster. Floor 14 easy as shit, floor 15... Yeah, I'm not getting this one. I finally got an A on Critical node 3 with 6 LVL 60 agents after like 400 times. I've been trying for a month to level a second team, but absolutely no matter what I do, that team sucks. Team one can clear in under a minute at times (Praise be unto Caesar). I'll probably have Yanagi leveled up just in time for content that makes her worthless.

No. This tower event isn't mandatory, so why bother? Just get the polychromes
