Personally Ult Freyna dropping END OF OCT is a hype drain for me. I was looking forward to doing the new content with her. Now she's basically a Season 2 Descendant. The Catalyst "fix" still worries me. If they are going to make it so we still have to relevel the weapon or Descendant then it's a failed fix. I'm ok with still using a Catalyst, as frustrating as that is. I would much rather use those Catalysts on building new weapons and Descendants but I get it. Also, and I doubt they would and not sure how/if they can track it, retroactively applying this to socket we've already changed.

Advertisement made it seem like Freyna was dropping 8/29, but she's two months away. This sockets should just be universal once catalyzed. The leveling process needs a huge rebalance because the game is currently stuck in a xp/gold farm loop if you want a strong character. XP needs to be tripled at minimum so we can just play or farm mats and level without having to worry about xp caves ect. Gold needs to be buff or lower the amount for modules ect. Reactor changes is a huge W.

yeah lowkey i’m kind of scared because even though i personally don’t mind freyna delay too much despite being an extreme freyna main, this could be a breaking point for lots of people. She’s a fan favorite, and lots of freyna players think she sucks so they been dying for the ultimate hoping she could be stronger. For the socket change i don’t see a problem, but since they did take this approach, they definitely need to make so amount of catalyst transferable to ultimate or something because this just amplifies players complaints of building a character just to have an ultimate come out.

2 months for ult freyna is a massive L. their catalyzing change is a massive L, just an attempt to further enrich themselves with their goofy forma prices. leveling xp in this game is horrid, unless you do a handful of super lame crap (bunny cave ie--even then it's still bad compared to warframe), another huge L. the game is overall too easy currently and the only use for maxed out chars is gluttony, or following around a bunny and collecting loot behind her--enormous Ls. i'm worried about the future of this game.

They way I understand the socket change. You gotta catalyst it twice so gotta double farm it. Still inconvenient. They should make it so if you use a catalyst it just reduces the mod cost for all mods.

@staxe366 I agree, farming and building a catalyst per slot is enough grinding on a character imo. Such a time suck releveling these characters back up everytime you socket is annoying if you are catalyzing a slot you've already catalized

why bother catalyzing/energizing and using resources on a non ULT character? once she comes out as an ult THEN her mob will be usefull unless you are a "content creator" that need the mod now for content purposes..

for the socket thing. they are trying to meet the player at a "middle ground" without losing money. thats all. so basically you are still " limited" but they gave you wiggle room. so its a lose lose situation for for both parties and a win to the spending money mech.

The socket type should be if you use a catalyst in a slot we should be able to change it to whatever socket type we want to use. I think its weird to limit it to two types, but regardless its still better than one perm locked. I'm not actually complaining about that change, but wish it would've granted us any socket type once unlocked with a catalyst.

So looks like they are hitting two birds with one stone. The mysterious merchant is going to take all your dupes and convert them into a currency. From that currency you can buy certain pieces for your decendents. Which is not going to be everything at once but in a rotation kinda like reactors. There goes the pity system and taking care of dupes.

socket "fix" isnt a fix at all.....not only do you potentailly have to use double the catalyst now but you have to once again relevel the character every time you change the socket.

I am getting the feeling that catalyst is where they are making their money, and they want to still push for people to purchase them. It's going to bite them in the long run. 12 catalyst per character, 12 level ups and then of you want the ability to change a build you have to add more catalyst and grind them out again. Plus they are constantly adding new characters. Not to mention doing the same thing with your weapons. Also a day and half for reactors and you can only craft 2 catalyst in a day unless you pay to speed it up.

I'm getting a lot of Destiny 2 vibes here: - Inversion Reinforcer sounds a lot like seasonal artifacts - Excava sounds like Quicksilver Storm - ETA-0 is XUR also the name is a bit like the Exo naming convention except it's 0 and Exos start at 1 (the number goes up each time they die and get rebooted) Farm Amorphous materials but don't open them until the update next week!! Using up void shards only when using the device is HUGE. It's immensely disappointing when the thing spawns inside a wall or rock and can't be reached 😢 The socket type thing just means that nothing is changed for your characters at the time the update is released, but then you can repolarize the socket to a different type and from that point on you can choose either of the two types at any time for that mod slot... and then maybe polarize it a 3rd time and 4th time etc. so that it basically becomes a rainbow mod slot. That's a lot of crystallization catalysts lol. This is not much of a change for most players, but great for much more experienced players (MR 23+) who have played many hundreds of hours and have unlocked just about everything but still want more things to grind for. The UX improvements noted at the end are HUGE! Absolutely legendary tier update. I need these changes so bad!

Socket fix will be a deal breaker for me. Will have to wait and see but sounds like a half-measure and might have to take an extended break for a couple months until they get a few more updates to see where they gaem is at. I like the game but after min/maxing two Ult Charaters and four weapons, catalyzing every socket I hit a wall and have not even played the game the last five days. They need to take another look at the leveling process because as it is the game does not respect a players time at all.

Ultimates and non ultimates should be the same character! Meaning you take a non ult to 40 then have the option to ultimate it when maxing out sockets! This way you don’t waste your time leveling a non ult! I have non and ults of the same character. Now for space I’m supposed to just delete my hard work? Not to mention characters that don’t have a ult yet that I’d like to invest in, like Enzo. I won’t because the moment I do… the ult comes out and I just wasted days investing time.

Sad there not doing anything to boost standard mission rewards xp/gold/kupier. Also hate that everything in this game has to be target farmed. Special Ops feels like a waste, only being gold/xp farms (not even the best), small amount of void shards for time spent and the occasional AM. Also they are all basically the same other than what AM you may get. Having them drop Kuiper, regional basic materials and mods would be a vast improvement of overall farming. The new catalyst system is better than I was expecting. It doesn’t waste any of your previous effort. Was half expecting them just to have setting page be independent, so you would need to catalyst all 10 slots again. Hope new vender will not be on random spawn for a small timeframe, and will be there at least 24 hours. Though permanent vender with rotating items would be best.

Did they mention anything about having to sit at outposts to farm for a certain amorphous material for 3+ hours only to have it drop 1oit of freaking 15 times only to have a God damn 3-10% chance of getting the part you want? RNG is awful even if it is accurate. Casuals like me who love this game are simply getting burnt out because of this issue. I am not trying to make a career out of this game. There is just nothing else out there that like as much as this game and shouldn't be forced out because I'm not as skilled as others. There is room for all types of they could fix this...

not a very good change for the Socket type, sure you could overwrite it to what you need for a 2nd build but that means my 6/7 characters needs to be a 12/13 characters now or even worse since it sounds like EVERY time you change the socket type for that 1 slot it remembers all the choices it had so you could go Super hard and put in every single socket type per slot to only change that Single slot to anything you want... sounds like they just want more reasons to sell Catalysts and the exp boosters, its not a Solution for US players its a solution for Them

I don't get why they would make a new Descendant that has this ability, similar to Viessa??? They could have come up with something totally different, and just give these abilities to Viessa. Everyone plays games for different reasons. I like challenging games, but not overly challenging. That's ok, I've been playing Warframe, and I can always go back to playing Destiny 2. There are starting to accumulate small issues that are annoying, but all together become more annoying as time goes by. I've been grinding for several days for Ultimate Valby, but the game is keeping me from getting what I need, because the % is @ 3%. This is ridiculous. As I've always said, "We are Puppets, and the Dev's are the Puppet Masters". We play the game the way they want us to. Games are examples of Master Manipulation.
