In this DevSecOps project we will deploy Netflix clone Application as a docker container on Kubernetes cluster through a secure CICD pipeline using Jenkins, the popular CICD tool.
Along with Jenkins we are also use many other popular and demanding devops tool like Docker, Sonarqube, Trivy, Prometheus, Grafana and even Argocd and helm for Kubernetes deployment.

Great work! Question, isn't it better for performance to add the localhost address when the application is running on the same server? For example, the Grafana talking to Prometheus.

Yes using localhost is better for performance and speed but there might be times where you will need to use public ip. Here it will work even if you use localhost

I might be wrong but IIRC there are some edge cases where local IP is faster than localhost, because some implementations in some apps or libs starts a DNS query before it reslises "hey brp thats just localhost"

Don't release elastic IP or else IP address will be changed. if you stop the instance you wont be charged. if you are talking about nodes in eks, it will be recreated if you stop them as they are part of ASG, so you can make desired count as 0 and make it 1 or 2 later when you start working. all the best
