Hi all, what he says is true. I landed a job as an iOS dev in about 19 months. I hope my career path helps someone. I started learning in Jan. 2017, actually with one of the devslopes courses in Udemy. Built an app an published it in 2018. And I spent almost 6 months looking for a job as an iOS dev. And now 6 years later, I continue to do apps for iOS professionally. If someone is just starting, I want you to know that its possible, just be consistent. I was consistent almost every day for at least 1 hour a day. If I could do it, you can too ❤.

I learned this myself. I thought something was wrong because I didn’t “get it” in a few months… It definitely takes time, pace yourself, and keep going.

This is like one of those "If XYZ commercial / Movie Trailer / etc. were honest..." videos. Love it. We need honesty like this and less grifting sales pitches just to cycle somebody into a steamroller bare bones class so that it can frustrate people and shove them out the door unprepared and looking for anything but coding. No, I am not a coder. Yes, I did write programs...from scratch...that worked the first time ... oh wait, that was me programming in the year 1982. Yeah, way back when. But still, same thing. Lots of sales pitches back then. Lots of people selling the wrong route to people. Looks like you've got the right idea on telling people the real deal. It takes a lot of work. Here is the thing you must mention: the skills you learn, won't be universal. There will be something on the horizon being developed....and you will be out of the loop. And that will be eternal. There is always something somewhere that is being developed that will put other people out of work. Once you've mastered whatever it is you are doing, get ready to master the next demand and forget what you knew before, and adopt the new thing and new ways.

I started with, IT, excel and google sheets and became a beast at those. I found that if statements and functions came VERY easy for me. What was hard for me to grasp at first was data structures and loops. Why? Everything in excel is a table, we don't use any data structures in excel at all. Lolol Also, iteration crashes excel and google sheets so we try to avoid loops at all costs. Once i got loops and data structurs though it clicked.
