We take a look at the BRAND NEW silently updated DeWALT 20v Max Brushless Reciprocating saw. Recently updated on the brushless line it should be better right? let's find out.
Since the results looked a bit weird, we had to test the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Super Sawzall with the HIGH OUTPUT 8.0 XC battery. We found our test setup was not telling the full story. What we really need to look at is the user involved tests since no one in the field is going to be using the tool like it is tested with drop weights. We'll have both scores in the videos going forward (i hope) but put more emphasis on the user involved scroes.
DeWALT DCS382B is upgraded but missing a few key features such as: blade clamp lever, rafter hook, sub selection mode (dial, speed mode, low/high, etc), and oscillating mode. Still a good saw that will get the job done but not a reach for saw in my book.
The Milwaukee M18 fuel superstars are with the high output 8.0 XC battery performs as expected. It ranks between the 12.0 and the 8.0 on the Milwaukee sawzall chart and provides a good solid performance as you would expect.
Both saws could afford a quick change updated blade clamp system.

I cut a 7”x18”x144” slab into thirds with this today. No blade change, 1 battery, no lag, not stalling. An absolute behemoth of a saw.

Dude, the reason your 9Ah FlexVolt test was slower than with the 5Ah in the non-human test is because the 9Ah weighs more and is putting more weight towards the back of the tool, not the front where the cutting action is. When you are doing it manually, you compensate for this. It's obvious that the 5Ah should not beat the 9Ah in any fair test when it's been shown the 9Ah is able to put out significantly more current than the 5Ah. When you displayed user numbers only, the 9Ah was slightly behind the 5Ah test but that is most likely due to blade wear.

Milwaukee is way quicker because DeWalt still didn't add orbital action. I have the metabo HPT with orbital action and it is twice as fast as my older DeWalt

The results always favored the company who pays for the making of the video. All of them work almost the same. For heavy duty jobs get a corded version

Nothing stacks up to the 36V Metabo HPT Recip saw Variable speed, orbital and the most power and real cutting speed of all the saws on the mkt We still have all 4 going strong after yrs of steady work

Hello @4thewin , I have seen the entire video twice but English is not my natural language... Could you please let me know what was better for you? The MIlwaukee or the Dewalt? Thank you in advance.

I think they’re both pretty much the same. It’s really a matter of which battery platform you have. Some may saw Milwaukee is better since it has a hook, but I dislike the blade change system. If you want to know which saws are better, I would say the Metabo HPT / hikoki 36v and the Makita xgt 40v grj02 are better saws.

If you are looking for a surprise, try the Kobalt XTR. I already know it will take down the supersawzall, with way less vibration.

Not a bad saw but the Metabo HPT 36V has more power, speed and durability and it has a lifetime warranty and can be used with the AC adapter which we have used when we had some serious steel and demo work on a few occasions and didn't have to swap batteries Plus it's been on sale for $99 a few times-thata why we have 4 of them in my business-everyone reaches for that saw when they want some real work done

I like the lever on the old reciprocating saw. Really good review. Great idea pulling out a Super Sawzall to help find out what the deal was with the Flex battery.

For construction professionals blade change “lever action” was an issue. After a few uses my lever change was slightly bent forcing me to really amp up the force needed to fully open the lever while being worried about applying too much pressure and breaking the lever disabling my saw. With the new blade change “twist action” I have not ran into this issue.
