Bought one of these after going to Home Depot for a DCS380. Never even knew this tool existed. For my needs this saw is spot on! The 380 is way more grunt than my tasks call for. Excellent tool!

Just so everyone knows, I have one that I use daily and with new different blades it cuts easily twice as fast as this video. I typically use demo blades and it rips through wood FAST. nails and all.

could have used one of these today to cut some tree branches into smaller pieces. I used a regular Sawzall but it was really heavy holding it with one hand while holding the branches with the other hand. This will be perfect.

Hi Landberg, thank you for another informative video! If you haven’t tried the Milwaukee Fuel M12 and M18 Hackzalls, please do so! Both tools have powerful brushless Fuel motors, large dual opposing helix (crown) gears to mitigate vibration (see AVE’s-BOLTR tool tear down of the M12 Fuel), additional drain ports to help evacuate water and potted electronic boards and the rubber over molding on the top allows for the free hand to press down on the top of the tool for control, if needed. The deal with the vibration or not comes into play when cutting pvc or metal pipe. I use the Dewalt XR Multi-Tool, so I’m not 100% Milwaukee biased. As the inventor of the Sawzall, Milwaukee knows what they’re doing when it comes to recip saws.

Hi, I know Dewalt made this model for the atomic line and 12v. I do hope they make a new version of this hackzall on the (power detect) tool line. Have more power like the milwaukee m18 fuel. It might be a little more larger due to the motor but that's ok. Can't wait for dewalt new power detect reciprocating saw. Just my thoughts i wanted to share
@rcud14 жыл бұрын
that would defeat the small and compact purpose of it. The large one is for the power detect and its very heavy.

You sped up the video twice - the 1/2'' plywood, and 2x8" butcher block - why? Don't do that for demonstrations - real cutting performance should be shown -
@yz1235 Жыл бұрын
Because it’s so slow, this one is the weakest one in its class
@davparksoh Жыл бұрын
@@yz1235 Being slow doesn't mean the tool's quality is bad - I'm a pro metalworker/welder over 30 yrs & this little 20v Dewalt saw is impressive - I'd rather do a slower quality cut than something fast & sloppy. Plus it's all about the blades - he's using default low performance blades - I use mainly Diablo - huge difference - a 3 T.P.I. Diablo would go through that 8" butchers block like nothing. For not being a 60v tool, this saw is powerful, smooth, & versatile - good for precision work in most fields/trades.
@yz1235 Жыл бұрын
@@davparksoh I didn’t say its quality was bad, a lot of head to head reviews proved it is the slowest to cut, but its vibration control is great.
@davparksoh Жыл бұрын
@@yz1235 Saying 'this one is the weakest one in its class' kinda refers to its performance/quality - this saw has a slower s.p.m. than other saws... so it's slower in cutting - not rocket science here. Head to head reviews popular on YT can be a little misleading - high performance tools can handle brutal work/conditions for years or decades even - faster doesn't mean better - quality & safety are better. VCG's channel is notorious for trying to blaze through materials in actual races - it's a joke & a great way to end up in the E.R. at your local hospital. Pushing power tools too fast/hard is so stupid - breaking a tool, loosing fingers or an eye - that's what speed gets you - pro level work is more about quality, reliability, & safety. Don't put too much into YT head to head stuff - take your time, let the tool go at its own pace. This Dewalt saw is becoming my favorite tool - wood, metals, plastics - good smooth controllable cuts - that's what matters.
@yz1235 Жыл бұрын
@@davparksoh thanks, let me get one to try, by the way, what’s your opinion on toolboxbuzz tool test reviews, they are all pros
