I've got a slow leak in my air compress also. Can't hear it but it won't hold air pressure overnight. This may be a good place for me to start. Thanks for the video Kevin.

Hey I hope your still active cause I recently bought a D55146 with a broken regulator. I did the rebuild bought a new bonnet and knob but I still need the bolt and can't find it anywhere!

Could you make your own from a piece of all thread it may not be adjustable but at least you could use it.

Did it take a lot of force to get the knob off? Mine is blowing out the knob but everything I find says it’s a not a replaceable part.

I just pulled on it real hard you might try a hair dryer to warm it up first then put on a glove to get better grip.

Check for a small pin if it has one. locking the knob on from coming off. Sometimes they have a small pin or 2 I actually had to disassemble my regulator because it was not working right. Had crud buildup and wasn't operating smoothly. Something inside was sticking from friction Had a leak too at lower regulated pressures. and certain pressure ranges. Slow leak but sometimes you could hear it. Took it completely apart and lubed up every part in the thing with some Super Lube 21030 Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease And it works flawlessly now too. And doesn't overshoot the pressure I set anymore either! Perfect seal. Not even a tiny slow leak! I went absolutely ham with the lube/grease on all the moving o-rings and even some non-moving o-rings and surfaces. Made it work SO much better. No leaks!! Perfect pressure! Seems to work a lot more smoothly and accurately too. Instantly regulating the pressure exactly to where I need! The thicker grease should be more protective than a thinner oil lube. and last longer. Stay in place better longer without being shot out with the air flowing through it.
