For industrial work the 850 is great. The compact design really makes a huge difference when you are working inside a machine. It may seem like that extra inch or so of clearance doesn't matter but it really does.

Driving any lag bolts that long, I would use the dcf 921 impact wrench

Does a couple of seconds really matter really. I don't ever time myself when driving screws Ive had my 887 for many years and Ive driven everything Ive ever need to.

I like the idea that i can have a smaller tools that's more powerful but if it means spending twice the money then its not worth it to me. My 887 has lasted years, no intention on getting rid of it

I've never had a problem with my 887. It's always handled everything I've thrown at it including taking the lugs off of my cars and it definitely seems like mine works faster than yours in this video. It also didn't sound like your 887 was impacting, which is strange. But, I recently did an anvil swap and put the ⅜" square drive on my 887. Now it's straight up a little beast! I can't believe how fast it takes the lugs off the wheels now.

Atomic dcf850 has a special function on lowest power setting 1(on setting 2 and 3 it works as soon as you touch trigger). However on 1, you can press it all the way down, and first second it will turn a smidge first(like engaging into the grews of a fine screw) and then will start screwing it down. It does it only on 1st power setting.

Never had an issue w/my 887 works as it should but i still bring out my 885 still going strong 10 years after i bought it. Change brushes is all ive done+get the job done a tick slower but runs strong as the day i bought it.

Please stop using phillips screws for these tests, we all know they are crap. Also I would do a warranty on that DCF850.

Dcf 840 the best driver Dewalt makes , I pared it with a 6amp battery and it’s even better.

The reason why you guys have an issue when screwing those screws (impact gun jumping off head screws) is becouse you are using PH2 (philips) bit when these screws are designed to use on them PZ2 (pozidrive) bits.😉

Thank you for the honest review. This is the first time I hear about that downside of the 850. I am new to DW and that really put me off. Guess I´ll stick to my Makitas!

@@craignbros That is so true! The 850 has a really attractive format and power but to me triggerfeel is way more important. Most drivers are powerfull enough for me. Something that I think isn´t weighed in enough in tests here on KZbin.

You should get the 845 I got it it's not much faster than the 840 and it will get smoked by Milwaukee and RIDGID and FLEX have my own KZbin channel

@@jacobsebastien3910 I'm going to retest them and switch 1.7 and 5.0 power stack batteries back and forth but to me the only difference is the 845 has a Speed control
