Seeing these now out west for around 170, but that looks to be a sale price. Still a solid price for 340 for a 750ml bottle of 32 year Scotch.
@WhiskyInThe617 күн бұрын
Ya noticed that too. Agree definitely worth it.

The rather elaborate finishing Dewar's applies to their Double Double whisky line makes me speculate that the unfinished whisky wasn't especially notable. However, if that's the case they did a good job elevating the whisky with the finishing process they used. I won't complain about the results. They've almost doubled the prices on these since their introduction (in Texas anyway) so they're not quite the deal they once were. Still very tasty whisky, though.

These were definitely a bargain when they first came out.

Total wine in Southern California is selling these for $510 a pop up from $166 a year ago. ~300%+ price increase in 12 months, guess I need to travel to Canada soon...

That’s insane.

I picked one up on sale for about $130ish...just couldn't say no to that value. They have gone up alot in priced the last 2 years though... It's still closed, but now I might have to crack it soon😂. Most of my older bottles over 25yrs are some sort of blended malt, or undisclosed distillery, it really helps the wallet! Thanks for the review, Rob!

Great video Rob. I haven’t tried the 32 would love to but a little expensive now I bought 2 27’s last year for $67 apiece drank one wow it was amazing and I also got a couple of the 21 mizunara which again are fantastic love what dewars is doing

Whilst trading does go on, this is a Bacardi Brand so I would expect the main constituents to come from Aberfeldy, Aultmore, Craigellachie Macduff and Royal Brackla. I have tried a few of these and they have all been good.

Enjoyed the review! The price is a lot less generous in Scotland - best deal I could find online today was £360 for 500ml
@WhiskyInThe617 күн бұрын
Oh wow that’s ridiculously more expensive.
@nebulusnebulus650317 күн бұрын
100 Euros for 500ml included VAT (taxes) and shipping costs. I have 2 bottles and I’ll buy another for sure. In the box says natural colour and no chill filtered. The double double process. First matures every cask individually, several malts and several grains whiskies, then blend malts with malts and grains with grains and put in barrels and mature then for several years, then put together de blended malts and the blended grains and mature them as blended scotch whisky and last buy not least finish them in PX cask (in 32 years old expression, and finished in Palo Cortado cask for the 27 years expresión) there are also a 36 years old it’s a blended malt (no grain) but it’s cost a fortune

When these first came out, they were 140 to 160 US. Now post pandemic these are 280 min in my area. I got one bottle at the old price.

this is a superb whisky. I haven seen this for $120. I wonder how you got it so cheap

It may have been closer to 170 but I feel like I paid less than 150

That bottle once empty would make for a great infinity bottle.

Teach ! ... interesting Hi Park peat ? hehe ... Bacardi owns Dewars, which has Craigellachie, AUltmore, Deveron, Aberfeldy and Royal Brackla ... plus grains. I suspect the "peat" is from the heather of Aberfeldy and woodsmoke from Craigellachie/Brackla . . . even darker notes of sherry PX can contribute to "peat" effect without Islay malts... ( Current DEWARS 21 Mizunara for 200 pops is a bargain too)

Was more suggesting that it tastes like it a bit. Good to know. Cheers.

Here in Calgary Alberta, the 21 mizunara Oak is only $100 Canadian

@@WhiskyInThe6 (( u r actually spot-on for the HP nose : heather from Aberfeldy is also prominent, just no peat ))

Pretty sure it’s natural color as the color itself change between batches (I’ve been fortunate enough to try a few). One of the best bangs for your buck out there in my opinion. Usually the cheaper, older age statements don’t really offer an older age statement experience, but this one delivers in spades. I’d buy it whenever I see it. Slainte

Nice review. Goes for $220 USD locally. I don’t think the grain whisky is unmalted barley. Most liked malted barley or wheat that is distilled on a column still. Irish single pot still does unmalted barley and has a very distinct flavor
@WhiskyInThe616 күн бұрын
That makes sense. I was curious about the grain whisky too.

Got mine in NL for 150 or 175 2 years ago, 300 is way too much! I even bought it at a respectable (read: expensive) liquor store and not online with a hefty discount either. It's a great whisky, but not worth 300 by far.
@ccuellar621216 күн бұрын
The box does state no added color. Why they wouldn’t put it on the bottle/label boggles my mind.

@WhiskyInThe6 what I was referring to was its usually 1 sec for every year in on the palate,,atleast 20 sec min and you downed it in less then 5 sec,maybe your palate is so advanced that the rule of thumb doesn't apply
@WhiskyInThe616 күн бұрын
@@Maltmeister1I try everything well in advance of the review. For the sake of the viewer I speed things up a bit. Also highly doubt that’s a “rule of thumb” more like a rule you follow. You’d be hard pressed to find many on KZbin holding a sip for thirty + seconds.
