This is EXACTLY what I've been feeling since I first discovered them on 12/1/20.Yes, I do remember the date because it seriously changed the game for me. In all seriousness, not since Korn's first release when I was 17, or Slipknot's first release, or when I discovered ZAO over 20 years ago has a band affected me like Dexcore. Some bands just change your perspective of what's possible, what's good, what's heavy, etc.

the original vocalist of Victim of Deception (Daichi) sadly passed away at age 25 in 2017, I was lucky enough to see them live and meet him before he passed, the new vocalist is great though and does a really good job in the band, I'll have some of their songs for you to check out

What these guys do best is subversion of expectation. Musically it's great, but from a musician perspective it's not super complex, (except for the drummer, there's a lot going on there), the vocal range is big, but not Deviloof extreme, all the pieces fit really well, but what really makes it awesome is the way they set things up and then hold it [insert braveheart meme] and they caught you out. They hold it, delay it, put something unexpected where you feel the breakdown is going to be, but just as you relax, bang! They whip it out and slap you in the face with it. And it's all done just 👌 This band is hitting their peak and I'm hoping they continue to deliver this and don't pull a Dimlim... (Chedoara is an amazing album though, and the pinnacle of Dimlim. Go listen to the whole thing. Immediately.)
