Well....the truth is to keep striving to be a better version of yourself but definitely don't change yourself just to please those losers that could care less of your well being. Why try to please them when a simple respect is already too much to ask from them? True friends are supposed to be supportive towards you when you're at your downs and ups. If they can't even respect you, don't expect them to be supportive etc. Hanging around with those haters and toxic people and trying to please them is basically wasting your time and energy. You're better off spending those time and energy finding someone else who's better suited to be your companion.

And a good friend will let you know that dwelling in your own sadness and pitying yourself instead of trying to put the effort in to change isn't good for you either. It’s the easy choice and a twisted rationalization for any poor choices a person wants to make.
