ever since Captain Spencer's wife came into the station and he was asking her about the attack I suspected it was him. my predictions usually aren't right so this was satisfying for me lol

Actually in season 2 they did suspect the bay harbor butcher was someone in miami metro, but doakes got to close to dexter and it resulted in him getting framed for it

They didn't suspect it before the evidence proved there was no alternative, though. We'll have to see how they conclude this storyline, but there's simply no way that I can imagine to have Spencer publicly identified as the kidnapper without destroying the shock everyone felt over the Doakes storyline. Perhaps Dexter disappears him or he's otherwise killed without it being known.

Brians definitely the second killer.. i have several reasons to back this theory. 1: The guy at the table looked a lot like Brian 2: We see a Brian easter egg in one of the episodes where a Miami Chills truck drives past this could be nothing more than an easter egg but i think it’s foreshadowing 3: Brian would be tracking Dexter around this time i know this because in the original show he said “i’ve waited a long time to meet you” to Dexter when they go to pack up Joe Driscolls house 4: Brian’s character was heavily built on his connection to Dexter why would they change it now 5: The killings seem to link very little but still do link to Brians killings in the original show Brian doesn’t dispose of the bodies he taunts the cops by leaving them there and Brian is shown to be disturbingly violent in the original show so it would make sense given the growing brutality of the killings 6: In the books Brian was called the Tamiami Slasher not The Icetruck Killer and due to Metro believing that Brian Moser only had 5 victims in the original series its entirely possible Brian will be referred to as The Tamiami Slasher in Original Sin… we know he doesn’t drain his victims blood yet but maybe he’ll start cutting up the bodies 7: If Dexter takes care of Aaron by Episode 9 its entirely possible Episode 10 will focus on the Brian plot… similar to how in New Blood episodes 1-9 were focused on Kurt but Episode 10 was about Dexter getting caught. This is why i believe Brian is definitely the second

Especially after the creator hinted at how big of a moment it would be when Doakes shows up. It wouldn't be until a major story point happens since Harry currently occupies his desk.

My theory is the fact that Dexter said that the kidnapper hesitated to cut off Nikki's finger what if he's being forced to do this... What if he's being forced by Tanya?? Maybe she's involved with the cartels. Think about it Spencer as the kidnapper did not put any hesitation when he cut off the judge's son finger but he has hesitation for his own son.. Plus he was very careless when he left blood what if he wanted someone to find out that he's the kidnapper..
