instead of throwing to the canal, you can make a delicious fish soup.

I ordered two of these based on the reviews. kzbin.infoUgkxqmKabisEv81ul5v7OhvVxxOpt2CJruI- Received them on time and they look good. I really like the handle on these knives as they feel good in my hand. I'm giving them 4 stars on look and feel, but have not had the chance to put them to the test yet. I mostly fish for catfish and can hopefully try them out in the next few days. If they hold an edge throughout a limit of catfish, they'll be worth another star.Update...I used the 9" strong and the 9" fillet on a mess of catfish. I did put a sharpening on these before I started. I want a razor edge to fillet fish but they weren't quite that sharp. The people who gave these knives crappy reviews and said they were sending them back was because they weren't razor sharp. So what, do they not have a knife sharpener?? Good grief! I mean you have to sharpen any knife from time to time.I personally like them and am pleased with them. If you're too lazy to sharpen a knife then hire someone to clean your fish lol.I've never bought a knife in my life that would shave hair right out of the box. Don't be afraid to purchase the knives. They're pretty nice in my opinion.

Big snapper like that I save the collar. Also I try and cut the bloodline out totally. I hear if you are eating it fresh it doesn't matter but I do. Great video. learned a lot. Thanks.

Made it seem so easy. I thought I was going to do the best fillets after watching this. But it was my first attempt ever, and I failed miserably. 😂 but it still tasted amazing. Maybe next time

Seems like a like of meat wasted. You ever try cleaning the fish and leaving it whole for grilling or baking?

Victor. Could you please post a video where the snapper is cut along the spine and through the top of the head. The bottom lips and belly become the hinge points. I’m not 100% sure if the spine is removed. Butterflied this way makes it so much easier to grill the fish whole. Both sides (left and right) are even thickness. I have pictures of fish filleted this way at the fish market. I’ll send you a pic. Thank you.

Dear y dont u use twizzers to pluck out pinbones? That would save a lot of meat n also the looks of fillet as one whole piece
@josephdiaz39353 жыл бұрын
Usually works. The tweezers don’t work as well on some fishes though bc different fish have stronger and bigger bones

Victor, I hate to tell you this, BUT, you totally are missing the most important step in the proper fillet of a gorgeous American Red Snapper! First, you are gonna have to buy a house on the water with a dock on it big enough for your fishing boat. This dock needs to have built into it a proper "Fillet Table", along with the covering to keep you out of the sun or rain while you are doing all this. The reason you need this is because, when you are working on cutting up that fish, this allows you to frivolously throw the head, the backbone, the bloody guts, the crap, and other fish waste, into the canal so as to feed the other fish, crabs, and sharks hanging out in the canal patiently waiting once your boat pulls up to the dock. This also prevents you from stinking up your house with the stinky fish guts, which will piss off your wife. In addition, this denies stray cats from hanging around the back door, growling, fighting with each other, and bringing with them a whole lot of those nasty, disgusting fleas. Ewwwe!!

The "Knife Seen in Video" is not the "DEXTER OUTDOORS® SG133-8 8 INCH SOFGRIP® FLEXIBLE FILLET KNIFE" that is linked. The closest knife I have been able to find on the Dexter website is the "S131-6 6 INCH SANI-SAFE® CURVED BONING KNIFE". This knife is listed as a flexible blade knife. I am looking for a stiff blade knife in the same style as the Content Creator is using. Any advice, @DexterOutdoors ?
