I have a dad exactly like TI and I completely understand where Deyjahs coming from when she expresses that it’s hard to relay emotions to him. Narcissistic parents- cause that’s exactly what he is- ALWAYS think their feelings and opinions are the most important feelings and opinions above anyone else’s. They never want to admit when they’re wrong and eventually you learn that in order to keep the peace with them it’s better to keep your hurt and negative emotions to yourself in order to keep up the false allusion of positivity. Dad’s like this are especially harder on their daughters because they attribute being a protector and a provider for their child as being synonymous with possessiveness and control. The protective/possessive part is more so like Mama bear mode on x100 To them everything outside of their teachings and their parenting feels like a threat to your safety. These are the type of dads who would 100% wrap you in bubblewrap and keep you in a protective hamster ball if they could as long as it means you’re safe. I feel for her even more Bc not only did she have to go through the bullying on social media, but now it’s like she’s still forced to talk about it on a reality show. Being the same age, it’s some stuff that we want to keep to ourselves and figure out how to deal with privately. 😔😩 my heart breaks for her...it's sad because there are double standards in homes like this all of the time and then parents act shocked when their kid resents them or they go looking for love in all the wrong places. T.I. was out of pocket completely for exposing this info to the World then to sit and discuss it on RedTableTalk w/o Deyjah just goes to show how much he does not have regard for women at ALL. Literally broke my heart watching this. Everyone is entitled to their parenting methods but watching her break down tells you something’s wrong.
