Love the style of the drawstring top bag. There are so many interfacings I get nervous. I made 1 bag and fused it but it went wrinkly even though it was throughly ironed so this has put me off making another in case I get another interfacing that does the same.
@CountryCowDesigns

That’s a shame. Our favourite interfacing is G700. It goes on very easily

Hello Jo, I'm about to start sewing my first Deyjon bag, I'm using vinyl and cotton (cotton on the sides & back panel), can I do the lining with waterproof canvas or it would be too stiff? Thank you for your great tutorial!
@CountryCowDesigns
@CountryCowDesigns 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, I think waterproof canvas should be fine on the lining, I just wouldn’t interface it. If you’re using cotton on the exterior, you want to use some interfacing to make it equal in weight to the vinyl you’re using so it doesn’t sag in the middle. A couple of layers of woven interfacing or maybe some fleece or something along those lines should work, depending on the thickness of your cotton 👍🏻

Do you buy the cotton fabric from Spoonflower? What size stitching do you use for topstitching?
@CountryCowDesigns
@CountryCowDesigns 3 жыл бұрын
Yep the fabric is from Spoonflower. There’s a link for it in the video description that will take you straight to it. For topstitching I use size 4 - that’s the biggest my machine does 😁

I hate to sound dumb, but I am! I'm a beginner,...I don't see measurements for the strap on the pattern I purchased? How long should it be? It looks to be about 6 inches wide, but how long?
@CountryCowDesigns
@CountryCowDesigns 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Liz, the strap measurements are on the cutting list on page 21. On all my patterns, it’s on the cutting list. But it’s funny because lots of people seem to miss it 😆 30” for this strap
