When people ask me where to eat, I have one rule I live by: If you can get it outside of Disney (chain restaurants like STK for example) don’t get it at Disney. You’ll pay too much and you can have better, unique experiences at so many other places! The exception is- if your kids really LOVE The Rainforest Cafe and parents are ok paying the Disney price difference, do it. You’re there to enjoy your time and experience what you want. I prefer to enjoy time in the unique locations with my family. 😊

My wife and I danced to “Bella Notte” at our wedding, so Tony’s is always a must whenever we go to WDW. Agree the food is hit or miss, but if sentimental sappiness can’t overcome a little mediocre food then why even try to Disney?

Only been to Tony's once in 2011 but I LOVED it bc the server was the sweetest guy and the atmosphere was so pleasant. It was Italian comfort food not gourmet but I enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs 🤷🏻‍♀️❤

We loved Lotus Blossom Cafe, because we don’t have Panda Express or other American-Chinese food in The Netherlands. No orange chicken on our Dutch-Chinese menu! So we will absolutely go back 😄

That's a good point - not everyone does have these places back home, which is why it's good to have a variety. Like for me, I know everyone raves about Homecomin' - but I live in the Southern US - we've got that stuff covered!

Orange Chicken is American-Chinese, just like Fortune Cookie, so you also won't find those things in China. When I went to Holland, I had some of the best Chinese food I've ever had, better than in America or China.

Planet Hollywood takes me back to Flavor Town and into the warm embrace of Guy Fieri. Last time I ate at Planet Hollywood, Mr. Fieri came to my table and personally covered my burger with extra grease- delicious! I would 100% recommend Planet Hollywood to anyone who wishes to wreak havoc on the Disney World bathrooms.

I will always defend the family style dinner at Pizzafari. It was a table service meal for a quick service credit, which made it a great value in my book, and I like every element (pizza, garlic knots, caprese salad, Caesar salad, pasta, and dessert). Maybe the personal pizzas are not great, but I loved the family style meal.

Rainforest Cafe in DS is horrible. We spent $160 for our meal (3 people) and halfway through the server dropped a dish next to our table. A big chunk of plate cut my leg. They didn't apologize or ask if I was ok or anything even though at least 3 employees saw it.....just pretended it didn't happen. I had to go up to the cashier station to ask for some band-aids, as none were offered and my leg was bleeding. Awful customer service and overpriced bland food. Never again!

Thank you for your love for the murals and decor at Pizzafari. We ate there once for the A/C. The pizza was bad, but the artwork was amazing. So it's a great place to sit and cool off with a drink, or wait out a thunderstorm. I also wonder what's up with Food at the American Pavilion. It used to be the WORST of any of the parks- stereotypical bad American fast food. I do hope if they reopen Liberty Inn that they stick with the BBQ concept I heard a rumor about.

Just ate at rainforest cafe. It was awful. The daquri was overpriced with no alcohol at all. Even though they said an ounce and a half. My chicken was raw, but they did refund for it

We just ate at Il Mulino and enjoyed it. Also, AJ, please try Coral Reef again! We dined there and it was great. I’m from New Orleans and can honestly say their shrimp & grits were excellent.

I have to agree about STK. my husband and I are steak lovers and we were very disappointed with the overpriced steaks at STK. So much so that I have us booked at Steakhouse 71 on our upcoming trip and my husband was worried it was the STK or would be terrible like that.

My worst experience? Space 220. Nearly 3 hours of waiting in a room with a glorified screen saver. Service was way too slow and the food was not worth the price. Best part was the Moon Rock drink with a child.

It bears mentioning that Big River Grille is a chain just like Rainforest Cafe. We went there for one group dinner during our big family trip this summer simply because it was where we could get seating for a huge group of people and had stuff that finicky kids could tolerate.

Even though I live out in the suburbs, I feel like there's a lot more ethnic food offerings nearby than there used to be, which would probably make something like Epcot's Word Showcase less special than it was when I was a kid and, even though I lived where I do now, all you could really get was Italian and Chinese back home. We love Yak and Yeti and can’t believe that a great restaurant like that is run by the same company that runs Rainforest and T-Rex. Rainforest had its day years ago and the only reason we stop in there is to sit out on the patio by the water and have some cocktails. Also spot on about Il Mulino, we ate there years back for our wedding anniversary and that was a wonderful experience. The service and atmosphere is fantastic and the food is delicious.

AJ I was in Epcot a week ago. I had dinner at the Mexican pavilion exactly at La Hacienda de San Angel and it was terrible at least for my taste. Service was meh and I guess others have had a great experience but I can not say the same.

You forgot San Angel Inn Restaurante in the Epcot Mexican Pyramid, which has great atmosphere and terrible food. Same for Cinderella's Royal Table, which is fine for a Meet and Greet, but has expensive, mediocre food. And Starbucks deserves a mention as something that you just don't need to go to Disney World to get. Honestly, though, nearly all Disney food is over-rated and all of it is overpriced--often spectacularly so.

For pizza places if you want something quick as well, I highly Recommend the Pizza Window at Disney’s Boardwalk. That was the absolute best pizza I’ve ever had and my wife loved it as well. There’s certain days we’ll fast just for certain foods we know we’ll eat the whole thing and that place is one of them. Was shocked you didn’t mention that sneaky hidden gem!

I went to Planet Hollywood London back in summer 2001, and I still remember it as having the best hamburgers I've ever eaten in my life. I haven't been to the one at Disney Springs, but I'll definitely have to see how they compare one day!

When I book my trips to DW, the goodies that came with it used to include a free meal at Planet Hollywood. You can't beat free, no matter how great the place is. I never complained about the quality of my mushroom burgers, either.

Tip: I've never actually been to planet hollywood, but glad to know its loud, since I hate really loud sounds. BUT if you're planning a trip to HWS, and someone in your party likes movies, check out the sci-fi dine in theater. it's a little expensive, but besides that the experience is GREAT in my opinion. It's quiet, and if they have availability it's also a nice way to escape any weather. the food is kind of simple, but in a good way. [my opinion]

If you really don't like your food in a restaurant, and it's not a fixed price restaurant, you can always send it back. I've only done it a few times at Disney but they were incredibly understanding and took the nasty dish off of our bill.

I will say that if your kids are hungry and you aren’t so much, PizzaRizzo is terrific. My kids loved the pizza. I ate something an hour later somewhere else. But my kids couldn’t wait. If your kids can’t, PizzaRizzo is pretty quick and kids like it.

We ate at STK and all the videos I was were of the nice terrace so I thought it'd be a nice quiet place... they sat us right next to the DJ booth lol we barely talked at dinner because we couldn't hear anyone. It was super expensive but it was one of the best restaurants we've eaten at Disney. Will definitely request the terrace next time.

100% agree with Il Mulino. We have a DVC contract at Boardwalk and are KICKING OURSELVES for not having eaten here before 2020. Phenomenal service, excellent menu and portions WAY too large to finish! Likely one of the largest gratuities I've ever left at a WDW restaurant and worth EVERY penny!

Went to Rainforest Cafe and my daughter order shrimp when it came out it had not been DEVEINED ! When we showed this to the cast member she didn't understand what the problem was, so my husband asked her to please get the manager, when he showed up even HE didn't know that shrimp had to be deveined before you eat it. So my husband took out his phone and got a you tube video to show them why they are deveined. We cancelled the rest of our dinner and were comp for the apps., but when the management don't know how food should be prepped that has to tell you something about the restaurant.

The worst teriyaki chicken by far I’ve EVER had in my life was at the little restaurant in the Japan pavilion In Epcot! Horrible! My stomach still turns just thinking about it years and years later.

Steakhouse 71 for lunch was terrible. The prime rib sandwich was terrible. Later on the monorail we ran in to 2 old ladies and they said the same thing. No meat all bread. The Salisbury steak was just okay.

My wife ate at steakhouse 71 and was not impressed.

Tony's is great and reasonably priced - we like to share a nice pizza and enjoy a prosecco there.
