Its probably different for each person, their room, ambient lighting conditions etc. Basically the LG TVs are fairly idiot proof and tend to look good no matter how you set it up. With the new ones like C2 or newer, MAX OLED brightness is too much for gaming in a dark room, in my view

The issue for Sony using GoWR as a standard bearer for PSP5 is the game was already so well made for PS5. Games which really REALLY need a PS5 patch like Elden Ring, dont have one. Today, I went out and bought a PS5 Pro, although I'm still not happy with the price. I transferred all my data from my PS5 to the Pro, and I checked out a few games to see how much better it looked (Horizon Forbidden West, GoW Ragnarok, Ratchet and Clank Rift apart, TLoU 2, Spider-man 2). I was not happy and couldn't tell where the differences were (on my Sony A80L oled 65 inch). Then I thought: I can connect both PS5 and PS5 pro at the same time and compare by switching hdmi input. Then I saw the massive differences. My conclusion: my mind played tricks on me remembering the PS5 versions as looking way better than they actually are (I had not played these games in more than 10 months). Everything looks much sharper, with much more stable images, at ps5 quality settings at 60fps. KZbin videos don't do the PS5 Pro justice. For me, the PS5 pro is about clarity with ps5 quality settings at 60fps. It does not feel as a new console, it feels as the current generation should be. If you have not seen the Pro irl and played with the Pro, then the PS5 is good enough. If you have played with the Pro, it is hard to go back to the PS5. Is it worth the price? No. If it were 500 with disc drive, then I would recommend it. Go test it out in a store.

Sure, the initial numbers will be fine as scalpers bought a lot of them (and are now selling them at lower prices). But to see so many in stock after 10 days, doesn't bode well. The price is the reason.

I do wish I never played all the PS5pro upgraded games on the PS5 cuz I had a ton of issues with them and with the playstation games specifically at least, I ended up playing with the VRR mode, which was the only mode I liked. Like I couldn't play Spiderman 2 on performance modw. It looked too blurry and ugly. I suggest everyone to play it in quality mode with VRR at 40fps. Played God of war on quality mode with VRR as well. Final fantasy 7 rebirth I had to stop playing after 6 hours cuz it was just too goddamn blurry. And the list just goes on, like Callisto protocol ù, re4remake, Alan wake 2 at 850p blurry as hell, space ,marine 2 in performance is super blurry etc... BUT I actually waited for a lot of games and I have them still unopened since day 1, to play on ps5pro... Like lords of the fallen, rise of the ronin, FF7 rebirth (opened and played for only around 6 hours, mainly for the ps stars buster sword collectable 😆) and others... Sadly I don't have a disc drive cuz I didn't think scalpers would jump on them like hellhounds. Fuk me uh? However I also have a few games I didn't get specifically waiting for a ps5pro version, like dragons dogma 2, stellar Blade, silent hill 2 and a few others. So I have this MASSIVE back catalog of games to play...and I just got shadows of the damned hella remastered and the Alan wake DLCS (big waste of money. It's called Alan wake and there's like 14 female characters you get to play but no Alan wake. Doesn't give me much hope about the max Payne remake. Wonder if they will let me play as max at all). And yesterday I was also debating if buying re4remake again but digital for the deluxe edition and the DLC I still have to play. I also play VR so I might jump into re4 and finish it cuz I never did. Because I play Tekken 8 and Helldivers 2 as my main addiction and have a friend that just started playing dead by daylight and made go back into it, while also buying PSVR2 and I gave him my account so he got all my 20+ games, always busting my balls to play VR too. We just finished the campaign and 1 dlc of Arizona sunshine remake and gotta do the other dlc. Metro VR just came out and it's a VR masterpiece. Meanwhile I have like 5 VR games I didn't even try yet, like dead hook, vertigo 2, hubris, the anime bikes one, propagation and more... I wish a day would last 48 hours so I could have the time to play everything. I'm drowning in games and more stuff just keeps getting out and I have no idea what to play first. Oh right... I got hi Fi rush last month cuz it was like 15€. Dying light 2 will come out on pspslus... My cousin's wife worked on black ops 6 and gave a code for it and I just tried the zombies mode so far, might have to finish the campaign at least. And the ps5pro ain't helping cuz I wanna go back to games I already played. Even like Callisto protocol, which isn't amazing but I really liked it and my biggest issue was the performance mode being so goddamn blurry and it's implementation of FSR being so bad.. 😫 Fine. From tomorrow, I'm ignoring all the random stuff and I'm jumping into a marathon of single player games I have to finish. One game at a time, no jumping around between 5 different games.

​@@gluzor If you want to see it on the display itself as you are playing then really the only solution I can think of is to use a Tv or Monitor that has that feature baked into its UI. All the other solutions like capture cards between the source and the Tv will require using their software to see the source frame rate on a PC and that is assuming you don't run into issues with VRR support etc.

GOD OF WAR Ragnarök looks and play gorgeous on the Ps5 base we all know that. Your really splitting hairs on the improvements the Ps5 pro will bring to the game . Ps5 Performance, runs at a locked frame rate of 60 fps, and uses dynamic resolution scaling - with a minimum of 1440p and a maximum of 2160p - to maintain it. The Pro does not run the game at 60fps with Native 4k also .

In the unlocked VRR mode it runs above 60fps and looks great. This is just one of those games where the Pro mode doesn’t mean much because the game was already so good on the base machine.

It’s not splitting hairs lol. Pro is a blatant upgrade that is much more significant in person. The graphics mode needed VRR to run at 40 fps. Pro enhanced gives you a similar look and over 60 FPS with PSSR. Performance mode on standard ps5 is a graphic down grade to both of those settings. Quite literally blows performance mode out of the water.

Let the game scale, try to keep the native resolution of your tv as much as possible. If you stay further away from your tv you can output at 1440p, you won't see any difference and the game will run a bit better VS native and game scale and also save some vram since you run at forced 1440p. This is for PC settings, for PS5 always use native rez.

​@h.i.mcdunnough9421 No they Don't. I have Launch ps5 and ps5 pro. There's no other options on base ps5. Ps5 pro has a pro mode in certain games. Mainly ones already enhanced you'll see a pro mode. Otherwise pro does make the games look way better. Even on old ps5 settings. It's out putting better image quality and stability In 3d assets.

The PS5 Pro's market audience are mainly consumers who have the technical eye for games. If you do not see the differences and gains, you are absolutely making the right decision in returning it and staying with the XSX.

Im a huge Playstation fan and I've had every console since launch. 17 years continious subscription on PS+. So dont get me wrong, I love PS. But the PRO is a hard sell and I am skipping it for now, as many others do. The price here in Norway is also horrible.

Pretty on a par with 3070 but due to more optimisation on the console will perform between a 3070/80. But that’s just looking at the gpu. CPU isn’t the best on the ps which may hold it back. Everything on the pro is older game patches at the moment.

IMO there’s one major flaw at the ps5 pro release strategy: They should’ve released the console with a killer new AAA game that takes advantage of the new hardware. Take me for example, I’m a sucker for FF games, I’ve gladly bought the pro if it meant the best experience on FF7 Rebirth on day one.

Well, considering we don't know if ghost of yotei or death stranding 2 will release before GTA 6 I don't think delaying the pro just to land with a 1st party exclusive would make sense bc this is basically the GTA 6 console. And sadly ps game output has been slow. There are plenty of upcoming aaa games that will be best on the pro. Ppl who actually want the console don't need a thousand reasons to get it, it runs everything better.
