A quick correction for 8:21 Chaos Curtains do NOT get their DV reduced. In fact, the overall DV gets BUFFED. 9,515 base DV pre-rebalance vs. 10,997 base DV post-rebalance So there's basically no reason to consider the alternative pieces with this build. Sorry about that. I thought cross-referencing between two sources was enough. I guess I'll start looking at a third one from now on.

Hey there ~ Thanks for the great content, watching all of your videos :) Im currently torn between playing Manaburn or Archon on my Mistress. Running Mana Burn for a while now and from what I read Archon is a bit more future proof so I was thinking about switching ~ Would appreciate your opinion! Keep up the great content :)

With the Epic Rebalance that KDnF just got, Mana Burn also got some significant damage boosts, so I don't think there's any need to change your setup. Archon DOES become very powerful, but it does have its drawbacks. You have to play well enough to be able to maintain your MP by yourself, as buffers won't be able to heal you nearly as much (with the exception of Saint's Healing Wind). If you're not having any trouble doing content right now (especially when it comes to MP management), then I suggest you stick with it, and maybe consider transitioning into a different build as you get to higher content.

My question is could I run this Archon build on my Asura or would that be too detrimental to his usual playstyle? Yeah, absolutely. Asura naturally has high MP regeneration and relatively low MP costs, so it'd be very comfortable, even.

Painful Wound ring is... okay. The main issue is that it competes with Two-Tone Ring. It's potentially more powerful than the Guardian Dragon Ring, though, so it's worth considering if you don't need Two-Tone's utility.

I always appreciate the depths of your videos Mr. Synchroneity! I have a question though. I always liked building characters around their personal stories, so I felt like the 105/110 epic equipment update on the Male Mage was pretty awesome. Namely, the Abyss which resurrected the male mage into the beings we know as Elemental Bomber, Glacial Master, Blood Mage, Swift Master and Dimension Walker was always interesting to me. While the Abyss is a "natural state" to the male mage, it is very dangerous to other classes (at least that´s my headcannon, gladly I can be wrong though of course) so I farmed the pieces where my damage gets converted partially into Poison damage and get increased poison damage, while also getting bonuses while getting poisoned. I know that as a burst class (I am an Ele Bomber) the damage over time component of some parts might not be the best in slot, I have to ask you if a build like that makes sense in later stages of the game though. Additionally I want to know if the damage of the poison damage would be increased if I would decide to refine my staff as well next to the reinforcement. Kudos to your work, Sven

With the release of Ispins, we'll get earrings that you let you ignite poison damage stacks when inflicting the burn status (which they'll also provide), and it becomes pretty decent for general use. So it's not a terrible idea, even at the cost of doing a little bit less damage than other setups. Refinement does nothing for statuses anymore. It just increases Independent Attack.

Great video as always. Two quick questions though: 1. Would this build be good on M. Ranger and/or WM? My Ranger is currently using a Bleed build with Bleed bracelet and Cursed Bridle, MP Shoulder/Belt/Shoes, and other assorted Epics but I was thinking of experimenting with other builds. WM is as of yet still 100, but I wanted to do something besides the usual Bleed/Shock/Burn + MP3 I've got going on other characters. 2. Is this good for neutralization? I've been wary of straying away from the aforementioned Bleed/Shock/Burn because I really don't want to gimp my ability to neutralize bosses, especially since I've been playing a lot of content solo as of late.

1) This would absolutely work just fine on both classes. 2) Not necessarily, no. Since you're not converting any of your damage into a status, you lose the ability to neutralize bosses by just hitting them a lot. I find that it's most effective on classes that can already neutralize bosses easily (Spectre, Grappler, etc.), or ones that don't need to rely on neutralizing bosses in the first place (Striker, Secret Agent, etc.). Neutralization gauge depletion does get reworked later on though, so that'll solve most of your issues.

I wanted to maybe get your opinion on Archon for Elementalist, because while we have arad.db fuckoff damage setups and the mana burn is very appealing, I'd love to be able to take hits and I really like the idea of "Squishy mage with powerful magic shield." In fact, from the very first time I played StarCraft, Archons instantly appealed to me for that reason (and being the result of a fusion dance :D) my main concern is that they don't really use basic attacks so alot of the on-attack effects would be wasted, but my girl's MP pool is massive as-is

The "on attack" options trigger whenever you hit an enemy with anything originating from you, including skills. So that's definitely not a problem at all. Options that require basic attacks will generally say "Basic/Dash/Jump Attacks" instead. So go nuts. Archon's pretty fun. (:

@@aaajeear8654 Basically, Dimension Walker has skills that consume flat HP like summon Nyarly for example. For your main, I would definitely recommend Manaburn and just chug as many potions as needed.

Personally, I'll be using Archon on classes that either have naturally high MP consumption (Spectre, for example), or have trouble meeting the combo counts required by Ender's Gaze and Heightened Fury (Grappler, Troubleshooter, etc.). And yeah. Berserker, Dimension Walker, and Blood Mage are the only notable classes that I'd avoid using Archon on. In hindsight, I should've mentioned it in the video.

@@darthrevan8 from what i can tell, Archon build isn't good on Zerker, DiWalker and Bloodmage because all these classes have skills (or heck, even core systems) that uses HP instead of MP, so for them staying at 1% health REALLY hurts, you could say they become pretty much unplayable.

Can you explain more about counters? I am interested in cursed heart, someone said "bosses are 99% in counter mode so it's basically 15% skill atk", is he correct? I don't know what counter is, are all bosses in counter, what does that mean?

If an enemy is in the middle of attacking, channeling, casting, etc., attacks will deal 25% increased damage. Cursed Heart throws another 15% on top. And since the bosses in Ispins are almost always doing something, it's practically a 15% skill attack option.

Not right away! You'll likely want to hold onto it until you get an Epic top with an average of Level 50 options before making the switch, give or take roughly 10 levels.

There really isn't any particular piece that stands out. Just use anything you can get your hands on, more or less. Also keep in mind that you can run Noblesse to get red dusk crystals to buy the piece from the DCD shop.

For anyone reading because of the current level up fame/power up events, pick Genius Engineer's Protective Mask. Confident White Cloak is also okay. Genius Mask will be enough until you can get manipulation.

Just running any 110 dungeon at the highest comfortable difficulty is enough. Once you're able to start farming on Hero difficulties, you'll be picking up quite a bit of gold off the floor.

May I ask what your setup looks like? I've heard self-imposed statuses can get you killed if you're using Manipulation, but I haven't tested them thoroughly enough yet.

An optimized Mana Burn setup is likely going to do more damage, but with the buffs coming to the Archon setup later, it'll more or less even out. I personally recommend sticking with a normal Archon setup for Spectre specifically, as her baseline MP costs are quite high, and Mana Burn is going to drain your MP VERY quickly.

You can get Manipulation (and any other Castle-specific epics) from a box you buy from Meryl, which costs 400 red dusk crystals. Using Mana Burn pieces with Reversible top is viable, but yes, you'll likely have MP issues. I haven't tried it myself, though. Feel free.

@@SynchroneityDFO For the earrings, what do you think about the boosting pulse tube? With mana burn it looks like all clear cube skills are at least 4000 mp, so the 15% skill attack is better than the earring that gives 8% right? Or is the 4000mp only the base cost and not the mana burn cost?

Boosting Pulse Tube is in fact viable, but not for every class/build. It does just come down to your final MP costs per skill. Definitely worth considering if you aren't relying on your lower MP cost skills much at all.

Yeah, so uh... the build doesn't really work for classes like Berserker that have HP costs for skills. On the bright side, you can utilize things like Manipulation relatively easily if you don't mind dealing with being low HP (and using Diehard to keep your HP up).

That's why you take Reversible Leather Coat as Top for insurance. As soon as HP reaches 0, your MP become your new HP. Sure, it comes with a permanent MP drain and you're literally casting from your health now, but there's enough equipment that restores MP with each attack.
