You've pissed the driver off enough already by overtaking on the left hand side, so sitting in the middle lane instead of the bus lane is just going to annoy him even more. Yes he overreacted a bit but you kind of pulled the twat card by sitting right in front of him blocking him.

That yellow sign above the number plate actually says do not pass on the left hand side, he cant see you, I very much doubt the lorry driver wants to stand at an inquest into your death and explain to your family how you got caught in his running gear, that's why he was angry.

@@SkydivingCyclist couldn't see because knob heads like you creep up down the side and then ride in the middle of the road like you own it. Just like people in motor vehicles are taught to never anticipate what a cyclist is about to do and just allow for room and hold back. Cyclists should also be taught to stay well clear of trucks especially down the left side. If you do not have a HGV licence then you wouldn't understand how dangerous blind spots are. It will take literally no time for a person to be severely injured or even dead.

Never pass on the inside! I would have been pissed at you if you did that to me. If he flattened you when you passed on the inside then he would have been held accountable despite it being your fault. The wagon has road tax, bicycles don't. Cyclists should be regulated. I drive a wagon but cycle to and from work so as you can imagine I can see both sides. I, however, do not behave like a prick when I am cycling.

I suggest you do some research Allan. The notion that Vehicle Excise Duty (which I do pay by the way) is a hypothecated tax is a misconception.

Dearest Allan, I am not being argumentative, just factual. VED goes into the general Treasury fund and is not ring-fenced for the purposes of maintaining roads. He doesn't flash his lights at you or beep. Why are you riding in the road infront of him when there's a bus lane your allowed in? Why are you looking back at him constantly. Why are you riding so slowly to as hold traffic up further? Why did you pass him on the inside like that and then sit in his blind spot? You are just adding to the hate that cylists get. Grow up.

As you say filtering is totally legal, what I dont get is why cyclist argue that they need a metre and a half space for someone overtaking them as it's a safety thing yet happily pass in a foot size gap if it's to their advantage. You were being a bit of a plonker blocking not just him but all the traffic behind too

There's a huge difference between passing a stationary vehicle and being passed by a multi-tonne vehicle at speed. I wasn't blocking him, I was trying to work out what his problem was. Once he'd demonstrated he wasn't able to act professionally I certainly wasn't going to move to a non-primary road position.

yes I agree with you I am a cyclist, car driver and a lorry driver, when overtaking a cyclist I always give and expect plenty of room but I would not have passed a lorry on the inside.

I have twenty years experience riding in cities. You dangerously passed on the left and then took the whole road with no apparent purpose. Please note how much negative press for cyclists you have now created. Ideally ride better but if you can’t do that then please don’t ride with a helmetcam!

I drive a hgv and that is how a young girl on a cycle in London was killed by a readymix lorry. Driver didn't know she was by the side of him. Until it was to late. Passing on the left is a big no no. That is why the sign is there. The same as the fish eye mirror on the front because people walk right under the windscreen and could not be seen been there had it happen to me. Do yourself a favour and wise up. No lorry driver wants to live with a death on his hands.

what the hell were you doing undertaking a vehicle on the road? stationary or not it is a stupid thing to do, you want to use your bike on the road then thats no problem, but use it on the road lawfully and have consideration for other road users. there was no indicated cycle lane so you should of used the road like everyone one else.

Firstly, it's "you should have" not "should of". Secondly, it's not illegal. According to the Cyclelaw website, "Filtering on the left hand side should only be done when the traffic is completely stationary and the cyclist is confident that it will remain so until they are safely past the vehicle." Which I was.

Common sense would tell you not to ride up the inside of a HGV. So many blind spots and incidents where cyclists end up under the wheels.
