In my era of early to mid 90’s WIlliams had more influence on me and my crew than so many other greats and legends of skateboarding. I cant imagine how many people’s lives he influenced like mine. There was no other story like his in the history of all sports. When I first made it to Philly Love Park and skated it in 99 by way of Cali I fulfilled a dream! Massive respect due Stevie and the Philly crew!

fantastic story, I cried. I met him in 2008 in NY, I was a French tourist looking for the banks and went to watch the river. I saw a crew of skateboarders and a black dude skating on a huge bench. I ask if it was Stevie Williams they say yeah. After that I spoke with Stevie, he was nice to me it was Huge and we take a picture. Thank you mister wialliams.

It’s funny how I grew up in Australia and race didn’t mean anything in that era, Stevie was one of my favourite skaters… My mate used to order 411vm and we used to all go round his to watch it and we all loved Stevie… In reality race still doesn’t mean anything to me, just don’t be a dick Props to 411vm for always letting us know what the new music was as well. DC re released his first shoe a few years ago. Still a great shoe. Non skateboard brands have been stealing from skateboard culture for so long. Those 1200 dollar luxury branded shoes that ripped off the d3 model made me laugh but also annoyed me. The huge brands have been infiltrating and pushing out skateboard owned brands heavy for the last 15 year's or just straight up stealing and using their marketing power to destroy the original designs. I respect everyone that agrees to get paid by Nike and adidas because who would pass that up especially as a skateboarder but I don't respect the company's themselves because they never feel all in. There's so many skateboard brands over the year's that just couldn't survive and it sucks. I'm glad that some have survived though especially baker. I actually think Stevie would have been a great fit on baker also imo. My only negative about dgk is that he didn't keep the company in skateboarding and almost started to pollute the market with product making it not really as special. I understand why he did it this is business and the market for dgk was there and some. I just think dgk would feel so much different today if he only sold his product at a dgk shop and online and maybe a couple key skateshops that he respected growing up. With how much product he got out there the design process looked super stale and lazy. I actually think he should be doing that now kind of rebrand the company, bring in different artists, make it more limited, etc. It might be too late though for that the brand has already became like your diamond supply Co or crooks and castles. Maybe he doesn't even care because I guarantee those brands still sell like crazy somewhere. I just think dgk could have been different. He's already made it anyway and has a manufacturing partner where he could start a new brand right now and do it that way. The yacht club was bad though sorry Stevie. If he ever makes a new brand he should bring in fresh artists.

Just finished watching the Stevie Williams story, Amazing!!! Not that long ago I bought my Niece who is 8 a DGK skateboard and when I found out what it means from Google I said it stands for Delaney's GOD'S Kid, after finding out the true meaning of DGK I'm so glad I bought that board for my Niece. It has the pink and blue that reminds me of that tea. I'm going to be getting DGK stickers the next time I'm at the mall.
