I hope this lad isn't too hard on himself. I for one have all the respect in the world for him as he's had the bravery to come on the channel, which is something I could never do. He'll get there, I'm sure of it. Driving lessons are honestly pretty nerve-wracking as is even without a camera and potentially 700k people watching lol Power to the lad. He'll do great with a few more lessons.

A lot of things make this much harder for him, he's in a completely unknown area as he lives in Leeds, he's driving under pressure as it is, on a huge KZbin channel and he is driving a car he hasn't driven before. I'm not surprised he found it tough, but he shouldn't let this get him down and just use it as a teaching point, good luck in your test lad.

Well done Charlie, for coming to do the mock test, this has helped you to find a new direction. To those posting, yes he may be nervous, however more nerves occur when you haven't received adequate instruction or guidance. I have had a similar experience (although I had one good instructor but no test dates), I find that drivers who have had good instructors don't understand what it is like when you have a bad instructor. Charlie, will do well, he is young and will learn fast.

I'm only a pdi of 2 months, and I've had a few students come to me after being with another instructor for 10+ hours, then saying that they've learned so much more with me in 2 or 3 lessons, and I've made them more relaxed, more comfortable and have less anxiety, it's shocking that I've heard students tell me that there last instructor was shouting at them, the feedback so far makes me feel like I'm doing something right, hopefully I'll pass my part 3 in March

I don't know much about what it's like driving in the UK, but the first thing I was taught when I began driving was that no matter what, you have to stay calm. When you start thinking too much, you start to panic and you can't control your vehicle properly. Just focus up, that's the most important thing
@maxdavids54455 күн бұрын
Nerves play such a huge part in any test, especially when there's silence. I passed my test third time, I was having a chat with the instructor the whole time, put me at complete ease.

Trouble with learning with friends and family is that you pick up their habits. First corner is a prime example, turning left he positions too far to the right. I call these drivers ‘swingers’ the worse place I see it is at light junctions. Why do people feel the need to do this at lights? It’s not as if it’s a sharp bend. After only driving three years after passing my test this is one of my bug bears. There’s no need for it, it’s dangerous
@SimonKelly-w9v14 күн бұрын
It would be good to see people who have drove for some time with a licence take a driving test again. I wonder how many bad habits I’ve picked up since passing. Is there such a thing as a refresher test for experienced drivers
@sgttoxiiczz14 күн бұрын
Some of the YT instructors have done mock tests with experienced drivers, not sure if Pin has. Most of the tests didn't end well. Lol My instructor once told me that most drivers would fail a driving test after 6 months of passing just because of lazy/bad habits.
@SgtGuarnereDD14 күн бұрын
Charlie comes across as a good lad, who'll get the hang of it sooner rather than later. His vehicle control looks fine, especially once he got used to the car a bit more. Just a matter of practise.
@colinjava844715 күн бұрын
That was really bad hesitation in fairness, its like he was waiting for a letter to come in the post confirming he was okay to go. With a big lorry or bus you can generally go as they take longer to get up to speed if they are stationary.

There should be a law that if you don’t pass your test on a 3rd attempt that’s it game over, the state of drivers in the uk is at a all time low. You can’t just keep taking a test then fluke it on the 8th go.

I was horrified at the way he held the steering wheel or didnt. Should not move his head to talk to people, keep your eyes on the road in front and your mirrors. That for a start would be a fail and if he has not been taught correctly not his fault.
