=In spite of / despite being a nice little girl, she was not an ordinary child.
3. She also helped her mother in her free time.(complex) DB20
=She also helped her mother when she was free.
Or She also helped her mother when she had free time.
4. She worked hard to shine in life. (complex) DB20
= She worked hard So that she could shine in life
