I've nearly finished reading Ajahn Sumedho's DON'T TAKE YOUR LIFE PERSONALLY. It's a wonderful collection of teachings about being with 'what is', no matter if it's 'nice' or 'not nice'. (For me his teachings dovetail with that of Toni Packer and Anam Thubten.) In great appreciation I put my hands together

Thank you do much for all of your talks from the monastery In england. Self realization is not easy and is a never ending process.
I have highly respect for Buddhism I find its the most clam and spiritual teaching which are moving towards the world peace. I discover that there are one1 religion or Can say the common religion that every religions share the same, is... "The Truth" No religion would teach a person to be untruthful or dishonest. So for my opinion on this is that, for being a truth person who able to walk in this truth path of life in this world especially, has a lots of "Obstacle" and will need a COURAGE as its not easy to know the truth and STAND UP and SPEAK UP for it. That's why some government leader or religious leader knowing truth but try to suppress the truth and make people blindly believe that what they are telling is true. There are many religion's ritual which can be leading right or wrong, which am not offend with it as long as the person knows the truth, being honest and accept it. Long story short, I want to note few things out for Buddhist's rituals that I noticed, Firstly, I discover that shaving head, hair, beard by Buddhist ritual as a symbol of detaching the looks or physical appearance can actually work the other-way round. Detachment can work by letting the natural body hair grow as naturally and accept it as natural thats what Dharma or Thamma (natural) is, as to my understanding its the same way as detaching from inside. The same example for Garden and a Forest difference. To be natural with effort or effortless the spirit will feel differently. Buddha also had a long hair thats where we can see in his sculpture of having hair bun. (Sure keeping long body hair will also means a person will need to keep it clean and hygiene as this comes in keeping body and mind clean. aswell) Secondly, for vegetarianism in Buddhist if its been search in depth actually in Buddhist precept life also taught not to kill animal or eat (if research even Buddha was a vegetarian) I know there are many reason that Buddhist monk or his follower has thousands of answers to give to this question. (am not going to debate about it) But again I would say to seek the truth. Its nobody false to eat non-veg as they are born eating it since childhood. And even if someone want to change it can be hard not because they are not compassion to animal or not knowing the truth but its the attachment of the "Taste" even if a vegetarian person are attach with soda drink and ask them to quit it, it can be hard for them too so its not the question of not wanting to change but its attachment of the taste. thats why in buddhist they have practice of detachment cuz it can help to avoid the harm to the body, to others being and to the world. Thirdly, as for Buddhist sculpture in real Buddhist study they wouldn't ask to have material or physical attachment belief like outside sculpture but to believe in his teaching, his words and act out as karma (action) cuz buddha spirit is everywhere not just in sculpture. Fourthly, I understand as for a Human behavior that if a person do something or believe in something whether its right or wrong according to their level of understanding at that stage of life they would influence the other person to follow them too, that apply to the world leader or Religious leader of the world today. So I would like to say to pls help us to awake the true conscious to us all. My point is not to change the way any religion are, or any person but I only want the true spiritual seeker to seek the the truth, to be courageous, and speak out so we can follow the true path and solve all the worlds problems, corruption, poverty, humane, animals, world in a very loving and compassion way. IF leaders changed, the world change! Through true education. that's my personal opinion on moral aspect if there is any mislead msg do pardon me, thanks.

The pure experience is transcendent of thought. Be the clear point of observation, and see how all create conditions are transient and subject to change - so cannot be held on too. In this one can find 'That' which changes and 'That' which does not. The Buddharupa is just to remind one of the wisdom within man, it's not an image of prayer to ask for one's own desires to be answered - as the wisdom is within man and found through the practice of insight and mindfulness.

We need to replace the word 'Buddhism' with the original term Buddha Dharma (Truth, Truth of Reality and Experience); I grew up as a Buddhist in India. I saw Buddha as an Educator from the use of the word 'Shikkhapadam" in Pancasila. Sanskrit word, "shiksha' means "instruction, lesson, learning, study of skill"
@vegahimsa30575 жыл бұрын
The Buddha called his teachings many things. The closest thing to "Buddhism" was probably Dhamma (and) Vinaya.
@HangmanAngman11 жыл бұрын
Rupa means image or representation in Pali, so the word Buddharupa means "image of the Buddha." It's traditionally used to refer to statues of the Buddha.

Do not forget this...We are all teachers because you wear a robe does not make you a master of all wisdom...an Aeon means nothing because it is just a word as is time....you exist in the mind set which is why you can not see other dimensions of reality around you...I have no met any monks or nuns who speak to me about the realities of dimensions beyond the physical one which many adhere to...speak to me of the cosmic realms of beings where i come from and then i might listen but until then keep meditating but do not expect those who are already awake to the universal realms to bow to you....And if many of you in the comments do not like how i speak now then i have already tried being nice and it didn't work the next time i go to that monastery that monk will get a piece of my mind whether he likes what he hears or not...I do not care to be come a monk because buddha wasn't a monk stop being hyprocrites accumulating all this wealth like the catholic church does whilst the poor suffer and the homeless....Christ was not born into a rich family...You speak of Dana and giving to the sangha and feed yourselves start feeding the poor, hungry and get rid of your idols,sell them to feed people...a piece of metal is nothing but a piece of metal...The sercret of happiness is being omnipotent within heaven here you suffer...in the end it is your choice ever you go into that light or you remain stuck in the cycle....Truth defeats lies on all levels of materialism because higher vibrations go beyond physical worship of the false and fake....Fact!!....If you want to be the way you are to someone who see's through the lies then i will also be harsh with facts and teach you all humility but don't expect me to bow to idiots.

You are partly right, even though your comment is written badly. The monastery is very materialistic, hierarchical and sexist. There is an order to how they get food, with all monks first then the nuns. There are very luxurious surroundings for the abbot. All this is unnecessary if you are living the buddha's teaching.
