Saree is the identity of Indian culture. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari people in India wear saree in different ways, that amazes. However with change in time the unique styles and tradition of draping saree are on the way of extinction, one among these is 'Dhangari Chirkut'.
The woman of the pastoral Dhangar community maintaining linkages with tribal culture and forest expresses the intimate bond of relationship with nature and surrounding environment.
The woman in Dhangar community use to drap saree in unique way, they call it Chirkut. While draping this type of saree women are not making any type of knot, nor using a sting but still it remain tidy and yes strong! As she use it for multi-purpose too.
This is a small effort to through light on unique way of wearing saree which is a part of our culture and heritage.
