In today's episode Anubhav is out on a momo trail at Dharamshala along with our host Anika Sharma. Located on the upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh, it is a serene and picturesque town that attracts lots of visitors. Being a major stronghold of the Tibetan community, it's food scape too is dominated by their cuisine and the most ubiquitous dish over here is the momo.
The first stop of this trail was Vinod Chaat Bhandaar where we had a hearty cheese momo along with chaat papdi. The latter one was absolutely delicious while the momo were decent enough.
The second stop was the very famous Kirpal momo. This non fancy eatery has a limited yet the most adored menu. We tried their mutton momo which was absolutely phenomenal. What made it more interesting was the slightly spicy and comforting bone soup. This place truly lived up to its reputation.
The third stop was Food Safari where we had some new age peri peri momo. These were fried momo tossed in a zesty and spicy peri peri masala.
The fourth stop was Rishi Cafe and Fast Food. Located near an important educational institution, this place is a favourite haunt of students. It is singlehandedly run by a young man named Rishu. We tried some chicken momo which were decent enough. But the vibe of this place and Rishu's warmth made this visit special.
The last stop of this trail was TASTE OF TIBET Near Norbulingka Institute. It is very cosy, spacious and beautiful restaurant that specialises in Tibetan cuisine. Here we tried some really delicious spinach cheese momo and veg gyathuk.
