I knew for the longest time that I've seen Thomas Gibson somewhere before Criminal Minds. Lo and behold, it was one of the sitcoms I grew up with as a child. The irony that his character still has ties with the federal government is pretty amusing and funny to me. You gave me good laughs in Dharma & Greg. And you've been shaking my feels in Criminal Minds. I'm glad that you remain a solid and awesome actor, Mr. Gibson.

Man I loved this show. Back when it was on tv as a teen dude living with two tough brothers and a conservative home where both parents and siblings would constantly micromanage me - I couldn't or was allowed to watch this show. But I still could tell this was a great show from the fragments I could see. So just recently at around 30 I revisited and it was better than I expected. If only I knew this earlier I had an understanding of relationships and chosen to live my life like one of them. Although Dharma is the one I strive to be like.

I totally agree with you! I remember when I first saw him on Criminal Minds, and I thought it so weird that this fun loving guy from Dharma and Greg started doing this serious and intense role! He literally went from one end of the spectrum to the other, from comedy to tough, hard-ass FBI agent. It was so jarring and hard to get used to! But I thought this basically proved how versatile an actor he could be! People forget he is acting a role as the emotionless Hotchner. It isn't that he himself is a bad actor, but is playing a ROLE where the character lacks a variety of revealing emotions! His work on Dharma and Greg clearly proves this! Furthermore, people should look into an actor's body of work before criticizing his lack of ability! That apparent lack of emotions that Tom Gibson portrays in Criminal Minds actually proves the opposite. He has you all fooled into thinking that his lack of emotions is not the character, but the actor's true identity shining through. (And apparently this "true identity" reveals he cannot act! How ironic!) I am fortunate that I was aware of Dharma and Greg as I watched it when it came out, but for all those who judge a person's "poor acting ability," make sure you take the time to do your homework by not just judging an actor on one role, but by taking the time to check out the actor's roles in other shows, movies, etc. Sorry if I sound high and mighty here, but it's impossible for me to sit back and do nothing, when I see someone like Tom Gibson, the actor, so misjudged.

Thank you for uploading what has to be my favorite sitcom series ever! There is only one brief moment that always bugs me whenever I see this 1st terrific episode, is at about 00:50; the weird forced smile/grimace from the Dharma-as-child character, whereas the young Greg is very realistic w/the shy but innocent smile. Otherwise I love the writing, & all the regular characters.; some lines are absolute gems! I've known folks that are Very much like the 8 main characters, w/little modification.

I personally only started watching this show because I saw Thomas Gibson on it. I love him and Matthew Gray Gubler on Criminal Minds. I just love Hotch and Reid! I agree though that seeing Thomas Gibson cracking jokes and laughing like he does is wierd since Hotch rarely smiles and jokes around.
