Ram and Rahim are one, they are called by two names.
Kabir says, listen to both names, do not be deluded.
This is how Sahab (Sadguru Kabir) gives teachings. Look, it is a great irony of human society that while religions spread, the purpose for establishing religion is lost. Our saints and great souls established religion for what purpose? Numerous religions were established in the world, but with what objective? The great souls and saints established religion with the aim of ending conflicts in the world, but today, we fight in the name of religion itself - this is very surprising! Religion was established to end the world's conflicts, but today we fight and quarrel in the name of religion - this is a great paradox! And we fight to such an extent that it is no longer a childish fight. Where in the morning they fought, gave two blows each, and by evening they were roaming with their arms around each other's shoulders. This fighting reaches the level of massacre. So much hatred fills our hearts towards each other that we do not even like to hear each other's names. We do not like to see each other, sit together, or walk together - such divisions arise in society. With what cruelty we fight! Is this a trivial matter? Does it seem like an ordinary thing that one human being slits another's throat, stabs them in the chest or stomach, or sets a living person on fire by pouring oil on them? When we burst crackers or cook food, if our finger gets slightly burnt, we experience so much pain. If we get a minor cut or injury while working, we hold our hand for an hour. Even a small burn or minor injury causes immense pain. So imagine the agony of someone whose entire neck is slit, whose stomach is stabbed, or who is completely burnt alive. Only an utterly cruel person can inflict such pain on others.
And people from both communities commit these acts - Hindus cut, stab, set fire to and burn Muslims alive, while Muslims cut and burn Hindus alive. What happened to the compassion in our minds and hearts? Where is our mercy and kindness?
Sadguru says, "Hindu compassion and Muslim kindness, both abandoned from their hearts. One permits the slaughter, the other strikes with fire, engulfing both homes in flames."
And this is not just about humans, but about animals and birds too. Just as we are alive, have bodies and feel pain when injured, animals and birds also feel pain. When someone beats or hurts them, they feel the same pain we do. So where has Hindu compassion and Muslim kindness gone? Both have abandoned mercy from their hearts. And mercy itself is religion - where there is mercy, there is religion. Sahab (Sadguru Kabir) has said, "Where there is compassion, there is religion."
