Yeah, this story was a mess lol if you line the logic up together. They could have easily took out the physical abuse part because it doesn’t line up with the rest of the video at all lol. That’s exactly what I was thinking, it doesn’t occur to Jessie at all that she’s abusive and that that’s not how you should treat a kid if you really want one lol.

I don't think it's necessarily contradictory. A lot of kidnappers like this nanny typically have a very possessive, intense obsession, so while she does love her it's not that unexpected that she's also abusive. and same for Talia, they mentioned she's grown up with her. Little kids can both love their abusive guardians and be scared of them at the same time
