To me it just looked like he knew it would be too difficult/risky to land against the constant evasive movements of salem which would lead to him getting punished and possibly losing his stock from being kept off the ledge without his limit climhazzard. He used to be very trigger-happy with his cross slash limits and now it looks like he's very cautious with it, and especially against the best bayo player who is expecting him to use it. Against a lesser opponent we definitely would've seen more attempts.

David Howard RANT: Almost all the people complaining don't really understand what they're watching nor the true integrity of this game and that character interactions and "true Combos" largely differ from that of a traditional fighting game. We'd all be aware of that if we had the chance to see lower tier characters that have specific qualities that disrupt the followups we're used to seeing work; but, this game isn't proportionately balanced? Who'd have guessed.. They reference salty tweets of a very few top players (Zero, Zero's irrelevant squishy girlfriend "Vanessasaurus", and guard dog promoted white knight "Allie"). All of whom obviously huddle, cry, and talk shit amongst each other (especially when their egos lose a tournament) then try to act short and objective on twitter while being passive aggressive like: being blatantly insincere and being short with words and requesting a rematch in the midst of someone's moment of celebration. They know everyone already thinks zero's a baby that can't take a loss so his clique throws the more obvious salt and says exactly what he'd like to be saying despite Zero's love affair with top tiers since we've known of his existence and his success largely because of it. It's eating them up inside that they have so many improved players coming out the woodwork and they can no longer sit pretty at the top stroking each others body fat. A good portion of this community is toxic and so are the so called "pros" that cry, perpetrate bias and general BS that only justify the ignorant spectators. So your character loses a match up "Allie"? The spirit of: Ness (FOW), Ike/Roy (Ryu), Peach (Samsora), Ranai (Villager), Palutena (TLTC), Wii Fit (Numbers), and the honorable few Mac, Link, Duck Hunt, Pac-Man, Samus spirits out there says get the hell over it cry baby. Yep. Pretty sure it's a simple matter of him being deathly afraid of being knocked off the stage without limit on hand, but LCS is Cloud's strongest kill option overall (with LCH debatably being his second strongest as well), so for him to impose that restriction on himself I think is hurting him more than it is helping in the long run.

No, this match up is even asf. They both body each other Bayo has damage and edge guard that is harmful for cloud. Cloud has kill power and range that is harmful for Bayo. They both body each other which is why it's even.

Just me complaining that a lot of people don't understand that bayonetta isn't just an instant win button. Her neutral actually blows while cloud has some pretty busted tools of his own. Bayonetta is still the best character imo, but if your going to complain about the character being broken, it's not like cloud doesn't have stupid crap of his own.
