Beaufighters were very heavily armed with machine guns, cannon and rockets as well as bombs when necessary. Ground attack and attacks on shipping mainly. Feared by axis forces. Not too often used as an actual fighter but you wouldnt want to be sitting in front of one.

Two of my uncles were the last ones to evac out of the Russian front, on one of those 323's. Really weren't many made, because of fighter and bomber production, taking precedence over transports. 8:50 Oh boy did _they_ ever pick a crappy time to RTB. LOLS 👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻 Nice flying.
