Wow, I am overwhelmed by all the comments, views and likes. I've had contact with a pilot from DHL that asked these pilots who had the birdstrike, they had no damages and no fluctuations of engine parameters. And indeed another bird hit the right nose cowl. It depends, if the engine is damaged which causes problems for the aircraft to remain airborne, pilots will decide on emergency landing. If not and there are no problems, just continue to your destination. Example of bird strike which resulted of engine damage and/or both engine lost is: US Airways Flight 1549

Two birds almost simultaneously ingested into not only the left engine but the right one is crazy especially when dealing with birds that are clearly not flocking! That bird on the right bounces off the cowling of the right engine and lands on the runway to be picked up by the guys at the end of the video is nothing short of amazing!

@British Airways Boeing 747-436 yes it is alright. At this kind of terms, the plane continue his departure into its destination. 1 bird is nothing, its just like a liquid of blood and small chunks of meat going out of the exhaust. Compressor blades can take a hit but not more than 5 birds in the same compressor blade that chopped off the bird. That's really gonna screw up the engine. Watch the movie sully, it is based on true life events (bird flock strike).

Don’t be silly.😂 It’s a kestrel that was hovering over the grass (left of the runway) looking for mice etc. The depth of field makes it look like the kestrel is hovering above but it is much much closer to the guy shooting the video and no where near the incident area.

That happened when I was on a flight from Kona to Honolulu, bird strike about 20 seconds after takeoff, a loud bang then the smell of burnt meat/feathers through out the plane. We circled for about 15 minutes (I guess to maybe dump fuel) then landed and we’re met by emergency vehicles with guys in full fire protection suits.

Being an expert....birds rarely damage engines. Part of the inspection would be to see if the bird had gone down the core. If it had the manual would say do a boroscope. If the bird had gone down the bypass and not caused any damage...wipe it off and carry on flying!

It’s not going to stop the engine at takeoff power, could possibly be some damage to the core but in all my time as an aircraft engineer I’ve only seen serious damage 2-3 times. Most of the time the bird is mincemeat after hitting the fan

You inadvertently caught an accident about to happen after the DHL plane had departed. At 1:29, a bird has completely stalled, despite its' best efforts to keep forward motion going by using a high rate of thrust. A crash was inevitable at that point! 😉

@@justplanecrazy5575 Yes, just a daft joke about the predatory bird (a type of hawk I think) which is hovering above the vehicle. That's how they hunt of course, you can see another one doing the same thing at 0:28.
