Dhrupad/Dhamar Lecture Demonstration - Part 1

SIMA Guru Shri Arijit Mahalanabis conducted a two-day lecture demonstration on Dhrupad/Dhamar at Svarit's monthly meeting sessions called 'Aarambh'. The lecture was done at IISc Bangalore. Accompanying him on Pakhawaj is Kishan Patel.

the music had to be secularised to please the muslim rulers. in this sense , dhrupad compositions are diluted Hinduism. haveli sangeet which is probably equally as old is then closer to the soil.
